This was a direct consequence of the large-scale activities launched in Turkmenistan on the initiative and under the personal patronage of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to revive the national horse breeding traditions, the development of equestrian sport in the country, the selection and breeding work to preserve and improve the breed characteristics of the Akhal-Teke horses, their gene pool.
