Summer season started in children’s health-improving centres in Turkmenistan. Recreation centres in Geokdere, Avaza and administrative centres of the regions welcome first holidaymakers. Turkmen schoolchildren gathered together at the square in front of the Palace of Children and Youth in the Turkmen capital, from where they headed to a beautiful corner of our country - Geokdere settlement, where over 7,000 children from all regions of the country spend their summer holidays each session. Popular children’s artistic groups presented their gist to the young holidaymakers. They performed a big concert on the square in front of the Palace of Children and Youth. Festively decorated buses took the ‘delegation’ of schoolchildren to the unique natural recreation area, where all 14 children’s health-improving centres waited for their guests. Based on the interests and preferences of young holidaymakers, artistic and sports groups were established for participation in various creative meetings and sports competitions that will bring together children from all centres. All necessary conditions are created in the recreation centres so that children enjoy their holidays. Specialists of ministries and departments in the spheres of education, culture, health-care and medical industry, state committee for sports as well as representatives of large public and other organisations prepared for the summer season. Due to their efforts concerts and contests with participation of children’s artistic groups, winners of creative competitions held in the country and at the international level are arranged in the centres each summer. During their summer holidays, young holidaymakers will have meetings with workers of culture and art, enjoy concerts of famous artists and visit the sights in the Turkmen capital, historical and cultural monuments, museums in Ashgabat and recreation areas. More than 35,000 children will spend their holidays in recreation centres in Geokdere, Avaza and velayats.
