The opening ceremony of the building complex of the school for air transport workers took place in Ashgabat. It is part of the building complex of the international airport in the capital of Turkmenistan. The school is built and equipped in accordance with modern requirements offers favourable conditions for fruitful and effective learning. Ceremony participants visited the school building and the hostel to see the conditions created for students. A film about on-going construction work on the building complex of the Ashgabat international airport was demonstrated to the guests in the conference hall. The project of the new international airport, which is to be the ‘air gates’ of Turkmenistan and a major transit hub on continental and intercontinental air routes, was launched in January 2013. The airport will have a capacity to handle 1,600 passengers per hour and aircrafts of any type and capacity in compliance with international standards. The building complex occupies a total area of 1,200 hectares. The passenger terminal 2 of the new building complex of the international airport of Ashgabat was opened in March 2014.
