Turkmenistan team has won five medals at the 34th International Balkan Math Competition in Ohrid, Macedonia. In this Olympiad 20 teams from 19 countries took part, total - 116 talented schoolchildren. Asgarov Jepbar and Tirkeshov Akmyrat, the pupils of the 10th grade of the State boarding school for especially gifted children named after Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi received bronze medals, Myamiev Resul, Agamyradov Rahman and Begenjov Agamyrat, pupils of the 10th grade of Ashgabat secondary school №57 with in-depth study of English also became holders of bronze medals.

The holiday, which promotes the idea of peaceful coexistence, goodwill, humanism and calls on peoples to maintain friendly and fraternal relations, marks the special date in the national calendar. On this day, by the well-established noble tradition, people all over the country pay tribute to the memory of brave heroes who lost their lives on the battlefields of the deadliest war of the 20th century, and honor war veterans with special warmth.

The Turkmen leader demonstrates with his personal example the important role of sport in human life, showing a striking performance, organization and purposefulness.

On behalf of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, they were awarded with monetary and valuable gifts and beautiful spring flowers. The Council of the Elders, the Ministry of Defence, public organizations of the country, administrations of the capital and region were the organizers of the solemn ceremony dedicated to the 72nd ceremony of the Great Victory.

A delegation is sent to the Islamic Republic of Iran comprising representatives of public organizations, creative intelligentsia, scientists, educators, media members and honorary elders. On May 12, the participants in the pilgrimage plan to visit the museum of Magtymguly Fragi in the etrap of Magtymguly in Balkan velayat. On May 13, according to the national customs and traditions, appropriate rites will be performed in Iran at the burial sites of the great poets-thinkers.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov gave the relevant instructions at a Government meeting, held on May 5, stressing that healthcare development is one of the priorities of the state policy.

On May 16 it is planned to hold the International Scientific and Practical Conference ""The Constitution is the legal basis for progress"". This was reported at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on May 5. Within the framework of the forum, four sectional sessions will be held: in the International University for the Humanities and Development, the Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and in the building of the Constitution Monument.

In Turkmenistan the preparation for the forthcoming elections on May 21 is continuing due to changes in the administrative and territorial structure of velayats.

President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov signed the relevant Ukaz. As the text of the document says, in order to create favorable conditions for the celebration of the Victory Day and the population rest, a day off from Sunday - May 7 is moved to Monday - May 8, 2017. All institutions, enterprises and organizations, regardless of the form of ownership, are required to ensure the fulfillment of the Ukaz.

The 21st International Specialized Exhibition ""Mass Media in Belarus"", which brought together representatives of almost 400 news agencies, editorial offices of printed publications, publishing houses, TV channels and radio stations, continues its work. Mass media from other countries, including Turkmenistan, were also invited to participate in the exhibition.
