On the threshold of the great national holiday – Galla Bairamy, which is traditionally marked on the third Sunday of July, a scientific-practical conference “Achievements in the grain-farming sector in the Year of Neutrality and Peace” was organized in the capital’s Agricultural Complex by the country’s Ministry of Agriculture, State Association “Turkmengallaonumleri” and public organizations. The forum was attended by leading agrarian specialists, selectionists, workers of sectoral scientific-research institutes, representatives of ministries, departments, public organizations, and mass-media, as well as teachers and students of higher educational institutions. Among the guests of honor were the foremost people in agriculture, labor veterans, honorary elders, and the leaders of advanced farms from all regions of the country. The program of celebrations on the occasion of Galla Bairamy started in the Turkmen capital with a theme exhibition “Rysgalbaşybugdaýdyr”, which was opened in a shopping center of the f Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Union of Turkmenistan. The exhibition demonstrated a broad range of grain and bakery products made by the enterprises of the domestic private sector. A showroom of the State Arts Academy of Turkmenistan hosted an exhibition of creative works of Turkmen painters, sculptors and carvers celebrating an inspired and constructive labor of farmers and inexhaustible generosity of the fertile native land. The holiday-related meetings with participation of the best grain-growers and agricultural workers took place in the “Parahat” culture-entertainment center. After the conference’s plenary session, a grand ceremony was held of celebrating the grain-growing veterans and winners of the traditional competition, during which the best combine operators, grain-growers, land tenants and motor transport drivers of the country, were awarded valuable prizes on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov. Then the sectoral forum’s work continued in the panel sessions in the conference hall of the Agricultural Complex and at the Turkmen Agricultural University. The pressing issues of the grain farming sector further development in the country, introduction of advanced agricultural technologies and scientific achievements into the seed-growing and breeding spheres, adoption of the latest grain processing methods were placed on the theme sections’ agenda. In the evening, participants in the conference - numerous visitors of the capital, including the best grain-growers and machine operators from all regions - gathered on the square at the magnificent “Ak bugdai” monument, which was erected in the Turkmen capital’s southeast part, where a festive concert was given in honor of agricultural workers with participation of renowned artists, creative collectives and variety singers. *** In the framework of the grand holiday program, solemn meetings and celebrations in honor of the grain harvesting campaign participants, contests, concerts, equestrian and other sports competitions took place in velayats, etraps, cities and villages; museums hosted the theme art exhibitions and other mass cultural events dedicated to the “golden granary” of the new crop – the result of integrated efforts of the country’s farmers. A wide range of dishes were served and fairs took place in all the country’s regions, showing the native land’s fertility. The white marble Ashgabat city traditionally became a center of celebrations. Representatives of the leading farms, distinguished crop cultivators, grain-growers and machine operators, who achieved the most notable successes in their noble profession, came to the capital from all regions to attend the celebrations. Main events on the occasion of holiday took place in the song-music center “Ashgabat” in the National Independence Park, where a large-scale exhibition of achievements in the grain-farming and other agricultural sector was organized. The government members, leaders and representatives of Mejlis, ministries, departments, public organizations, and mass-media, as well as students and numerous residents and visitors of the capital, gathered there. Welcomed and accompanied by joyful greetings, songs and dances, the festive procession of honorary elders, agricultural and art workers, and youth proceeded from the “Ak bugday” Monument to the Park along the white elegant Turkmen yurts erected on the occasion of the holiday. Pavilions that represented velayats of the country demonstrated golden ears of the new Ak bugdai wheat crop, which was grown in the fertile fields of the God-blessed Turkmen land, as well as freshly-baked in tamdyr flat cakes, appetizing pishme, and other national delicacies. One could see there the best wheat varieties, each being a result of many-year scrupulous work accomplished by Turkmen selectors, including field tests of the new varieties’ performance in the soil and climate conditions of the country’s different regions. Colorfully arranged stands that demonstrated a wide range of bakery, pasta and confectionery products in bright packages of “Hasar”, “Misgyar”, “Degirmen”, “Tomus” enterprises demonstrated success of the private sector’s entrepreneurs in manufacturing high quality products with the use of both traditional and advanced world’s technologies. “Presentation” to the event attendees of a graceful Akhalteke racer, which was donated to the leader of nation on behalf of the country’s grain-growers, became one of the most exciting moments of the celebration. The celebration’s official part took place in the concert center “Ashgabat”. From a special tribune, the names of the most successful participants in the 2015 harvest season, who achieved the best results in their works, were ceremoniously announced. On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan they were presented with valuable presents. A grand concert performed by the best professionals, folk and dancing collectives and variety singers in honor of the farmers - skillful grain growers, was a true decoration of the holiday. A concert with participation of known Turkmen and foreign singers and creative collectives that took place on the big stage of the Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan became a fine finale of festive actions on the occasion of Galla Bairamy.
