President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, received the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Yildirim Turgul Turkes, who attended the celebration of the Turkmen Horse Day. The guest conveyed to the head of state the warm greetings from the President and Prime Minister of Turkey. Yildirim Turgul Turkes congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the Turkmen Horse Day, and expressed his admiration for the grand scale of the festivities. He also noted that Turkey places a special emphasis on the development of traditionally friendly, brotherly relations with Turkmenistan whose policy of positive neutrality, openness and wide international cooperation has won the recognition and support of the global community. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in return, expressed his best wishes to the top leadership of the Republic of Turkey and noted that Turkmenistan also attached great importance to the strengthening of the constructive interstate dialog that was taken to a whole new level and enriched in the recent years. During the meeting, President of Turkmenistan and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey exchanged views on the prospects of expanding the cooperation in the context of existing potential for intensifying the mutually beneficial ties. Among priority areas of the partnership, the sides named the commercial and economic sphere; energy; transport and communication; textile industry; construction and other areas where the countries have accumulated years of experience of efficient joint work. Having emphasized the deep interest of Turkish entrepreneurs in strengthening their positions in the promising Turkmen market, the guest expressed to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the words of sincere gratitude for the support in this area. As stressed at the meeting, the humanitarian sphere stands as an important component of Turkmen-Turkish relations. The two counties have acquired a significant experience of successful cooperation in this area; and good opportunities exist for the development of traditional contacts in education, science, culture, arts, as well as in sports and tourism.
