Today, a New Year’s celebration took place in the festively decorated hall of the Döwletliler Köşgi Palace. During the festivity, the children received holiday gifts on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The harmonious upbringing of the younger generation is one of the important strategic goals of the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. Fundamental personal qualities, moral guidelines and values, love for the Homeland, respect for primordial national traditions, and adherence to the precepts and ideals of ancestors – all of these are instilled from childhood up. Thanks to the state policy pursued under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, the country is consistently working in this direction.

The priorities of the national strategy, based on universally recognized norms of international law and humanistic principles, include improving the health of young Turkmen citizens raised and educated in orphanages, specialized schools, and boarding schools, and providing them with opportunities to receive a quality education.

As is well known, constant attention is paid to the country’s young citizens who require special care. Over the centuries, the Turkmen people have developed clear criteria for this purpose. These are now embodied in a set of legal guarantees for protection and other targeted measures aimed at their adaptation to society, social support, and preparation for independent life. As the National Leader of the Turkmen People, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, noted in his speech at the meeting of the Board of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Aid to Children in Need of Guardianship, held on November 5, 2025, in Arkadag city, helping and supporting those in need is one of the distinctive qualities of the Turkmen people.

Such noble traditions, which have developed over time, oblige our people to provide special care and attention to children left without parents. Such humanitarian work is determined by the past of our people, the remarkable traditions inherited from our ancestors. Guided by national traditions of humanism, our sovereign Fatherland shows special concern for children and adolescents left without parental care or guardians.

“Not a single child in our country is left without care; the state stands behind them like a rock! We will continue to create favorable conditions for the comprehensive and harmonious development of children and ensure their full participation in society. We will always support and assist the younger generation. Caring for the younger generation means caring for our great and bright future. All of this work is of colossal importance in strengthening the foundations of a happy life for the current and future generations of our compatriots,” said Hero-Arkadag.

In this context, independent, neutral Turkmenistan can rightfully be called a country of happy childhoods, where cherished dreams come true.

Today, a festive atmosphere reigns in the children’s playground near the large Christmas tree. Ayaz Baba, Garpamyk, the Horse, the symbol of the coming year 2026, as well as the heads and representatives of several ministries, agencies, and public organizations came to congratulate the children of the Döwletliler Köşgi Palace on the New Year.

In our independent country, thanks to the care of head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov, extensive work is underway to nurture a harmonious, intellectually strong, physically strong, and spiritually rich generation, fully developing their diverse talents.

Thus, at the Döwletliler köşgi Palace, children acquire not only knowledge but also various professions that enable them to confidently step into adulthood upon graduation of school. Pupils of the Palace explore the world of fine art and music, participate in various sports clubs and groups, and many have won prizes at prestigious creative competitions and international festivals held in Turkmenistan and abroad. Among them is the Joşgun Dance Ensemble, winner of the special children’s award named after Gulbaba Akyyev.

Performing a concert program for guests at today’s celebration, young Turkmen citizens demonstrated their creative abilities.

It is worth noting that many of the festive decorations of the hall were handcrafted by children. Today, with fervor and emotional spontaneity, they recited poems, performed fiery dances, and sang inspiring songs glorifying their beloved Fatherland, the extensive work of the President of Turkmenistan and Hero-Arkadag, and also dedicated to the New Year holiday, before a beautiful Christmas tree sparkling with tinsel and lights.

The young talents’ performance concluded with a round dance around the Christmas tree, accompanied by Ayaz Baba, Garpamyk, and characters from Turkmen folklore and fairy tales from around the world.

To the children’s immense delight, gifts – various sweets, fresh fruit, educational supplies, and interactive tools – were presented on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. It is worth noting that during the New Year celebrations, which were proclaimed as “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Steadfast Winged Horses”, the pupils of the Döwletliler Köşgi Palace were presented with musical instruments, an unforgettable experience for them.

At the end of the celebration, the pupils of the Döwletliler Köşgi Palace, accepting the gifts with sincere gratitude, expressed their deep appreciation to the head of state and Hero-Arkadag for a happy, peaceful childhood, their constant care and attention, as well as their warmest wishes and New Year’s greetings.
