Today, our people inspired with bright hopes and kind wishes meet the New Year 2026, which marks the opening of one more important page of the Era of Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state.
New Year's celebrations captured all corners of the country. In places of festive walks around the elegantly decorated, shining New Year’s tree with multi-coloured lights happy children sing and dance in a ring. Workers of culture and art of the country - popular variety performers, humourists, dance groups and theatre actors entertain their compatriots with new songs, dance and music compositions, scenic plays and bright performances, filling the holiday with a special atmosphere of entertainment.
These days, Ashgabat appears in finer shape, amazing with its multi-coloured lights and views, which create high spirit, evoke delight in the hearts of people. The ornament of the areas before the Alem culture and entertainment centre - the main venue of New Year's events as well as in front of the building of the State Circus of Turkmenistan where numerous residents and guests of the capital gather and evoke sincere admiration.
Every day of the outgoing year 2025 became an important date in annals of our new historical epoch and bright evidence of triumph of the internal and foreign policy of the country put by National Leader of Turkmen people Hero Arkadag and nowadays successfully realised by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov as well as confident advancement of Turkmenistan to heights of progress.
In particular, the foreign policy of the country based on principles of positive neutrality and good neighbourhood was crowned with success. Coincidence of the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan with the 80th anniversary of the foundation of the United Nations Organization as well as declaration of the outgoing year at the initiative of our country with the Resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations «International year of peace and trust» became an important stage in the further development of strategic partnership, strengthening of friendly and brotherly relations in the planet and association of international efforts for general well-being.
Adoption of the Concept of activity and priorities of Turkmenistan in the beginning of the year within the International year of peace and trust has clearly demonstrated the fact that our country considers this significant year as global event and possibility to bring out the international relations to a qualitatively new level. Organization of important international events in our country in this significant year and adoption of several United Nations resolutions at the initiative of Turkmenistan also speak of the fact. So, in March of 2025, at the 61st plenary meeting of the 79th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization, the Resolution «Permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan» that became another acknowledgement of the broad support of the foreign policy of our state by the world community was adopted.
Organization of the Third Conference of the United Nations on the land locked in the Avaza national tourist zone as well as the International forum devoted to the International year of peace and trust, International Neutrality Day and the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat, in addition with accompanying thematic events became events of really historical importance. The given forums turned into authoritative international platforms for discussion and development of solutions on topical issues of modernity. Heads and representatives of tens of states, large international and regional organisations took part in them.
The adopted Avaza program of actions for 2024-2034 has defined a new strategic agenda concerning development of the land-locked developing countries. The high international importance of results of the Avaza conference was confirmed and in October in New York when during the 18th plenary meeting of the 80th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations the Resolution «Avaza political declaration» was considered and adopted. In turn, the Ashgabat declaration expresses a firm adherence of the parties to association of efforts to strengthen peace and trust in the international space.
Adoption of two more major documents - Resolutions «UN Decade of Sustainable Transport 2026-2035» and « The pivotal role of reliable and stable energy connectivity in driving sustainable development» by the General Assembly of the United Nations at the initiative of Turkmenistan sounded especially symbolical in last days of the significant year. It became an important event, which showed that the noble initiatives, which have been put forward by Arkadagly Hero Serdar in his historical speech at the jubilee 80th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, aimed at maintenance of general well-being and sustainable development, received a wide recognition and support of the international community.
It is necessary to note that within the year, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag held a number of meetings and negotiations with heads of the states and the governments of foreign countries heads of large international organisations, outstanding politicians and representatives of business circles. During meetings, bilateral documents were signed and important agreements opening a new stage in development of positive international contacts and mutually beneficial economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and neighbouring countries, other states of the world were reached.
The humane principles originating in precepts of our ancestors, consistently get affirmed in the world as an integral part of the state policy of our sovereign fatherland. A special place in this activity occupies the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship. Within the significant year, the Foundation essentially expanded the scope of its humanitarian activity at national and international levels.
In March, in Arkadag city at the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and with support of the head of the state, the International conference «Year of peace and trust: development of the international activity for children», timed to the fourth anniversary of creation of the Foundation took place. Besides it, on the eve of celebration of the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan in the Avaza national tourist zone, the Government of Turkmenistan together with the Charitable Foundation and the United Nations Organization held the International conference «The role of women in modern society: development of international cooperation on the way of achievement of the goals of sustainable development». Following the results of the given forums, important bilateral documents on cooperation were signed. The opening of the branch of the Charitable Foundation at the picturesque coast of the Caspian sea became a significant stage in the further development of systematic work on recovery of health and treatment of children.
This significant year has also witnessed considerable work on consecutive modernisation of legal framework of the country. So, a number of regulatory legal acts were adopted. Special attention deserves the Law of Turkmenistan «On establishment of the anniversary medal «Türkmenistanyň Bitaraplygynyň 30 ýyllygyna» and the Constitutional law of Turkmenistan «On legal bases of the policy of peace and trust of neutral Turkmenistan», aimed at the further strengthening of the role of the policy of permanent positive neutrality in the national legislation.
Along with political and legislative achievements, every day of the International year of peace and trust in Turkmenistan was filled by dynamical transformations.
Throughout many years our country keeps the GDP at the level of 6,3 percent stably. It is an indicator of durability of economic basis of our fatherland and successful realisation of large-scale reforms. The significant year of independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan was marked by numerous opening ceremonies and stone-laying of large objects, which have become evident reflexion of strengthening of economic potential of the country, increase of well-being and improvement of standards of living of people. Within the year, important decisions aimed at the further social and economic development of the capital and regions and effective development of rich economic and natural resources were made.
In the glorious year, on the occasion of significant holidays in various corners of our fatherland, large social, cultural and industrial projects were placed into operation. It confirms that the social sphere remains a key priority of the reforms. The second stage of construction of Arkadag city, which has become a symbol of creative potential of the country, proceeds at high rates. In the first days of the significant year, the head of the state signed documents on construction of the first stage of the medical cluster in Arkadag city, carpet making enterprises, national museum of Turkmen carpet and needlework, and of some other objects. It clearly attested to the complex and far-sighted strategic approach to creation of the modern "smart" city where the social and industrial infrastructure is fully based on high technologies and innovations. The international certificates, which Arkadag city regularly receives, confirm its status of the outstanding sample of modern architecture and a high degree of quality of building.
It is necessary to point out that for the purpose of maintenance of large scale of building sites all over the country, high-quality materials and an effective utilisation of available powerful potential, large industrial objects consistently are put into operation. During the current year with participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the enterprise of pottery «Bäherden» in Baherden etrap of Akhal velayat and a shop for release of glass production in the territory of the industrial complex in the northern part of the capital were opened. The opening of the automobile bridge over the gulf of the Garabogaz kol and a stone-laying ceremony of the complex for urea manufacture in Balkan velayat and a complex for manufacture of mineral fertilizers at Turkmenbashi chemical plant named after S.A.Niyazov also became unforgettable events.
The fuel and energy complex, which is a basis of national economy, is consistently modernised. Enormous stocks of hydrocarbon raw materials of Turkmenistan are effectively used for assistance of sustainable development at regional and global levels, and for expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation. In the given context, one should mark that at the initiative of our country large international projects are realised. So, in October of the current year, Hero-Arkadag gave his blessing to the next stage of construction of the gas pipeline of Serhetabat-Herat called «Arkadagyň ak ýoly», the project being an important part of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) in the territory of Afghanistan.
In the year marked with the glorious anniversary of permanent neutrality of our fatherland, the National program of the President of Turkmenistan on transformation of social conditions of the population of villages, settlements, etrap cities and etrap centres for the period till 2028 was approved. In the atmosphere of high spiritual uplift the opening ceremonies of modern villages in Ongaldy etrap of Ak bugday etrap and Govshut in Kaka etrap of Akhal velayat and a settlement in Koneurgench etrap of Dashoguz velayat was held. The new settlements, which are a reflexion of successful realisation of socially focused state policy, put by Hero-Arkadag and consistently carried out by Arkadagly Hero Serdar was given modern symbolical names, characteristic to the epoch of dynamical development of our fatherland. In parallel in the country, a strong basis of food abundance is consistently created: Large cattle-breeding complexes, hothouse economy and farmer enterprises are placed into operation. The opening of a new cattle-breeding complex of the state enterprise «Altyn halka» with participation of the head of the state became a bright acknowledgement of the fact. Thanks to conditions created by the state, volumes and assortment of agricultural production stably grow. It is necessary to note especially that in 2025 grain-growers of the country produced more than 1 million 400 thousand tons of wheat.
In the significant year, the transport-communication infrastructure of the country was also modernised. The Concept of development of digital economy in Turkmenistan for 2026-2028 was confirmed. The material and technical basis of the branch were improved and large-scale infrastructural projects are consistently realised. The opening of the international airport of Balkanabat with participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also speaks of the fact. Taking into account the fact that Turkmenistan is located at the crossroads of the Great Silk road, realisation of similar large-scale projects promotes an effective utilisation of existing transit potential and the further strengthening of the position of the country as significant regional logistical centre.
it is also necessary to note active participation of representatives of the private sector in realisation of large scale reforms, which are carried out in the country. With successful developing private activity in various spheres of national manufacture and services, they bring a powerful contribution to the strengthening of economic and export possibilities of our fatherland. In the significant year, in the capital with participation of National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag the opening ceremony of the International university of industrialists and entrepreneurs took place. Creation of this higher educational institution became the next important step to preparation of highly skilled specialists for industrial complexes of members of the Union of industrialists and entrepreneurs and in integration of advanced international experience into the national education system.
Thanks to large investments made into development of education, sciences, public health services and sports in various regions of the country, modern social and cultural projects are regularly built. solemn actions held in the International year of peace and trust on the occasion of Day of Knowledge and Student Youth, and Day of workers of public health services and medical industry became a bright acknowledgement of the fact. So, in the city of Mary, a new additional educational building of the State Power Institute of Turkmenistan and other objects, and in the capital and Lebap velayat - comprehensive schools and kindergartens were opened. Opening ceremonies of the Infection hospital in Mary velayat, the modern health home of in the housing complex of Garadashayak of Bagtyýarlyk etrap of the capital and stone-laying of the versatile hospital in Ashgabat, then versatile hospital in Tejen city of Tejen etrap of Akhal velayat and the Centre of health protection of mother and the child in the city of Dashoguz transformed the professional holiday into an unforgettable event. Youth and sportsmen of the country successfully perform in the subject Olympiads and in sports competitions of world level, thereby increasing the authority of our native land. After celebration of permanent neutrality of our fatherland, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an awarding solemn ceremony for young men who have won prize-winning places in international intellectual and sports competitions, their instructors, coaches, and it served a bright and memorable event in their life.
In the International year of peace and trust, both in Turkmenistan, and abroad, numerous cultural actions, including Days of culture and creative festivals were held. These actions became an effective tool of cultural diplomacy, promoting the strengthening of friendly and brotherly relations between states and people. The Week of culture held in Akhal velayat created favourable conditions for exchange of creative experience, development of traditions of preceptorship and continuity of generations in the sphere of art and culture. A great deal of work is carried out to include material and cultural values of Turkmen people in the treasury of world culture. The awarding of the certificate on inclusion of the national nomination «The Art of breeding the Turkmen alabay» in UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity became one of the major results of the year. Especially it is necessary to note inclusion of Ashgabat in the UNESCO's Global Network of Learning Cities.
The awarding of citizens of Turkmenistan, who distinguished themselves with their honest work, and foreign citizens who have brought a contribution to development of friendship and cooperation with states and nations of the world with the anniversary medal of Turkmenistan «Türkmenistanyň Bitaraplygynyň 30 ýyllygyna» and memorable signs became one more significant event of the International year of peace and trust. The books of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag published in the significant year - «Achievements in public health services sphere», and XVII volumes of scientific-encyclopaedic work «Medicinal plants of Turkmenistan» became a powerful contribution to enrichment of scientific achievements and literary fund of the country. The work by Arkadagly Hero Serdar «Neutrality of Turkmenistan - a bright way of peace and trust» became a bright reflexion of successes of our fatherland on the glorious path of positive neutrality.
In the Era of Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, every year is replenished with significant dates. So, 2025 was marked by wide celebration of the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan and gave its place to the New Year 2026, which will pass under the sign of the 35th anniversary of state independence of our native land. These two greatest values, which have become a reliable support of statehood of Turkmenistan, have found a bright reflexion in the motto of the coming year - «Independent neutral Turkmenistan - the native land of purposeful winged racers», filled with deep sense and calling for the further augmentation of the international authority of our independent, permanently neutral state, and realisation of large scale creative goals for prosperity of our beloved fatherland.
For each of us, the New year - a holiday uniting the past, the present and the future, bright dreams and new purposes. Today in the fantastic small town at the Main New Year’s tree of the country, located before the alem culture entertainment centre of the capital, the festive atmosphere reigns. Bright and colourful decoration of the squares, songs and melody sounding everywhere create a joyful mood.
Popular performers in their songs glorify a new historical stage of development of our fatherland, national pieces of music, and compositions filled with New Year's wishes sound. All performances were harmoniously blended fine choreographic performances that add a special colour to the festive event.
On behalf of all present, presenters congratulated Hero-Arkadag and the President of Turkmenistan with the happy New Year, wished sound health, happiness and successes in realisation of large-scale reforms for prosperity and well-being of our native land.
By means of a satellite space bridge residents of regions join the New Year's celebration in Ashgabat. By means of the monitors connecting the capital with administrative centres of five velayats of the country and the city of Arkadag, honourable elders, khyakims, inhabitants of regions and youth congratulate the head of the state, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and all people of Turkmenistan with the upcoming New Year. Fine songs and dances are performed.
There comes the culmination moment - with the New Year's greetings to compatriots, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addresses. With great attention, the country hears the speech of the head of the state. Our bright future, new day of our fatherland are inseparably linked with large-scale undertakings of Hero-Arkadag, which nowadays proceeding under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
