Acting as an initiator of cardinal transformations and having laid a basis of the principle «The Motherland is a Motherland only with its people! », the state is only a state with its people! » in his activity, the President of Turkmenistan resolutely and consistently leads his country by the path of progress and prosperity, laid by Hero-Arkadag.

On May 20, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting, at which the issues connected with the agrarian sector and the activity carried out in regions of the country, were considered.

During the meeting, the khyakim of Balkan velayat also reported on results of the working visit to the velayat of Gulistan of the Islamic Republic of Iran where issues of trade and economic, scientific and technical and cultural cooperation between regions of two states were discussed.

Having underlined the importance of successful realisation of reforms in the agrarian sector, a complex solution of goals on its development according to requirements of the time and with application of innovative solutions, the head of the state instructed to hold the quality of current field works under an unrelenting control.

The President of Turkmenistan gave concrete instructions for the well-organised conduction of the grain-harvesting campaign, care of cotton fields, efficient use of agricultural machinery,   completion of rice sowing in Dashoguz velayat as well as maintenance of effective preparation of cocoons of silkworm.

In addition to it, he underlined the importance of timely settlement of mutual accounts for the work carried out between cotton and grain producers and service centres, enterprises.

Separate instructions concerned control over measures on care of crops of potato and others vegetable and gourd crops and gathering of the ripened crop and appropriate preparation for the well-organised conduction of the «Last bell» ceremony in general comprehensive educational institutions on May 25.

On May 20, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the head of the International Weightlifting Federation Mohammed Jalud, who was visiting Turkmenistan.

As was marked during the meeting, Turkmenistan attaches a particular importance to the development of physical education and sports, promotion of principles of healthy lifestyle, attraction of young people to physical education and various sports and expansion of international cooperation in this area. 

Our country is an active member of the International Weightlifting Federation. Successful organization the World Weightlifting Championship in Ashgabat in 2018 promoted further development of sports in Turkmenistan and the strengthening of cooperation in sports in the Asian continent.

The head of the state expressed confidence that the visit of the guest will promote expansion of productive partnership, realisation of joint projects and promotion of new initiatives in the sports sphere.

On May 23, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held the regular online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the agenda of which included a number of issues of state life.

They included – development of the bill «On virtual assets», aimed at regulation of the relations arising in this area.

The document stipulated general and final provisions, norms of state regulation and organization of the activity, mining, emissions and public placement of virtual assets, suppliers of their services. Adoption of the legal act will promote attraction of investments, development of initiatives in the field of financial technologies, stimulation of enterprise activity in the sphere of digital services.

Besides it, the information on exploration prospecting activity of «Türkmengeologiýa» State Corporation, modernisation of structures of civil aircraft and the strengthening of the material and technical basis of the agricultural branch sounded.

For consideration of the head of the state proposals to prepare for the basic evens planned for June of this year were submitted.

So, Ashgabat will host on June, 11-13 the international exhibition-fair «Turkmentextile Expo-2025» in which the fashion show of local and foreign designers, master classes devoted to ancient textile methods of Central Asia and modern technologies are planned.

A number of celebrations and sports actions are timed to International Day of Protection of Children, World Bicycle Day, World Environment Day, Day of Science, Day of workers of art and culture and poetry of Magtymguly Fragi.

On the occasion of World Bicycle Day on June 3 in the capital the mass bicycle riding will be held. From May 30 to June 3, in velayats, Ashgabat and Arkadag cities bicycle races, sports events, scientific-practical conferences, agitation-educational and other actions are planned.

Along with it, the outcome of the creative competitions will be summed up, final rounds of the art competition of dutar players «Çalsana, bagşy! » in Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats will be held.

Among the basic events of the month - the international dance and folklore festival «Avaza – the land of friendship» which will take place on June 2-7 in Avaza national tourist zone, celebrations on the occasion of the closing ceremony of the Year of culture of Turkmenistan in the People’s Republic of China, planned to be held on June 6. From June 22 to June 27 Akhal velayat will pick up the baton of the annual Week of culture.

On June 27, in honour of Day of poetry of Magtymguly Fragi in the cultural-park complex «Magtymguly Pyragy» a flower laying ceremony at the monument to the great poet and thinker will take place.

On the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of the opening of Arkadag city, song and music events are planned for June 29.

Results of the 18th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian commission on economic cooperation, held within the working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to Teheran on May 19-20 of this year were also informed.

Its agenda included issues of activization of bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic sphere and cultural-humanitarian area.

So, prospectus of interaction in the gas sector, in particular, concerning direct delivery of the  Turkmen «blue fuel» to Iran, its transit through the Iranian territory to the third countries, including under scheme SWAP were considered.

Possibilities of expansion of interstate partnership in the sector of electric power industry also became a subject of interested discussion. In the given context, issues of realisation of the project of Turkmen site of the Mary–Mashhad power transmission line, further export of the Turkmen electric power to Iran were considered.

During the meeting, the attention was given to key aspects of cooperation in the transport sector, including the project of the highway Gumdag-Etrek-border of Iran with a length of 242 kilometres. Along with it, a corresponding agreement concerning increase in transport and cargo streams between two countries was reached.

An emphasis was also placed on prospects of intensification of partnership in the area of trade and business structures. In particular, the agreement on preparation of the working plan for 2026-2028 for activization of trade and economic relations and further increase in the volumes of goods turnover was reached.

In the given context, issues of creation of frontier trading zones were discussed. It was noted that in the given area organization of joint exhibitions, business forums, other actions, and development of a road map and creation of the Turkmen-Iranian Business council urged to promote stimulation of productive contacts.

Besides it, the agenda of the meeting also included issues of mutual relations in the field of water management, in particular, preservation and rational use of water resources.

The separate attention was paid to the topic of further strengthening of traditional cultural-humanitarian links.

Following the results of the 18th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian commission on economic cooperation a corresponding Protocol was signed.

On the sidelines of the working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to the neighbouring country the meeting with Supreme Spiritual Leader of Iran Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei took place.

Key issues of interstate relations, actual aspects of the regional and global agenda were discussed at the meeting with head of IRI Masoud Pezeshkian.

The President of Iran confirmed his participation at the invitation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag in the International forum devoted to the International year of peace and trust and the 30th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan, which will take place in Ashgabat on December 12 of the current year.

At the meeting necessity of continuation of joint work in strategic areas of bilateral partnership was marked.

The head of the neighbouring state confirmed readiness of the Iranian party for realisation of the planned actions, projects and agreements reached earlier.

Besides it, on the margins of the working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan meetings with Co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian commission on economic cooperation, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran Farzaneh Sadegh Malvajerd, Minister of Energy Abbas Aliabadi, Minister of Oil Mohsen Paknezhad, Minister of Foreign Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araghchi took place.

The past week, the President of Turkmenistan signed a number of the documents aimed at industrialisation of the country, creation of large scale industrial complexes and increase of standards of living of citizens. Among them – Resolutions  «On construction of an industrial complex for manufacture of mineral fertilizers at Turkmenabat chemical plant named after S.A.Niyazov» and «On purchase of specialised vehicles, municipal technics and the equipment and also spare parts to them for khyakimliks of velayats and Ashgabat city».

The head of the state also signed the Decree on a business trip of the delegation of our country to the city of Riyadh of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a view of exchange of experience in the town-planning sphere.

On May 19, the telephone conversation between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag and Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan took place.

During the conversation a high level of consistently expanding Turkmen-Emirates relations based on principles of friendship and brotherhood was marked.

Hero-Arkadag underlined presence of big prospects for development of bilateral trade and economic partnership of what annual increase of indicators of trade turnover clearly speaks. 

The special attention was attached to a long-term positive practice of constructive cooperation with leading companies of the United Arab Emirates. In the given context, am  emphasis was made on the economic importance of the recently signed Agreements between «Türkmennebit» State Concern, «PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd» (Malaysia) and «ADNOC Turkmenistan RSC Limited» (United Arab Emirates), as well as Agreements between «Türkmengaz» State Concern, «PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd» (Malaysia) and «ADNOC Turkmenistan RSC Limited» (United Arab Emirates).

In the Mukam Palace of the State Culture Centre a solemn opening of the international festival «World Music» took place.

For participation in the event composers, conductors, best opera singers and musicians from the Russian Federation, People’s Republic of China, France, Iran, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan arrived in Ashgabat.

The sated program of cultural events included concerts of famous local and foreign art workers who presented rare samples of vocal traditions of various opera schools of the world, creative meetings, and master classes for students of music schools of the country.

In performances of actors the main ideological orientation of the festival – mutual enrichment of cultures, friendship and consent was reflected.

On May 25, the country hosted celebrations on the occasion of Ashgabat City Day and the «Last bell» ceremony. By tradition, best school leavers and workers of education sphere laid flowers at the Independence Monument, monuments to Berdimuhamet Annayev established at the Pedagogical Secondary Vocational School named after Berdimuhamed Annayev of Arkadag city and at secondary school № 27 in the settlement of Yzgant in Gökdepe etrap of Akhal velayat, bearing a proud name of this glorified son of the Turkmen people and also on the squares with the main flagstaffs in all velayats.

On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag schoolchildren who distinguished themselves in their study and subject Olympiads, sports, creative competitions and reviews and also educators were awarded memorable gifts.

The XXIV international universal exhibition and conference «White city Ashgabat» were timed to City Day.

In them our compatriots and foreign companies, enterprises and establishments, businessmen and entrepreneurs took part. The impressing exposition panorama captured such areas, as building and architecture, industry, transport and communication, financial-bank system, housing and municipal sector, education, public health services, culture, tourism, sports and others.

At the exhibition innovations in the field of «green» technologies forming a modern shape of the capital were presented.

The last Sunday of May in our country marked the holiday of the Turkmen carpet and it was also contributed by the exhibition of carpets and carpet products and the XXV meeting of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs.

According to the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, the best workers of the branch for their big merits in development of national carpet making art, honest work and professionalism the honorary title of «Türkmenistanyň at gazanan halyçysy» were conferred upon.

Thus, events of the past week serve as an evident illustration of successful realisation of the state strategy of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov – policy of the «open doors» and large scale transformations, focused on an innovative way of development, augmentation of economic potential of the country, strengthening of its authority on the world scene, further enrichment of cultural wealth of the nation and growth of well-being of people.
