On September 26, 2024, the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the son of the President of the Republic of Türkiye - Chairman of the World Ethnosport Confederation Bilal Erdogan.

Greeting the guest warmly, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty noted that he was glad to receive him on the ancient and hospitable Turkmen land during the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence and thanked him for sharing the joy of the Turkmen people on the occasion of the remarkable date.

Expressing gratitude for his time, the guest warmly congratulated the National Leader of Turkmen people on the Independence Day of Turkmenistan and conveyed warm greetings from his father - President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan and wished prosperity and well-being to the Turkmen people.

In his turn, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty addressed his best wishes to the President of Türkiye and noted that he warmly recalls the meeting with the head of the Confederation at the opening ceremony of the 5th World Nomad Games.

During the meeting, the sides highly appraised the bilateral ties in political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Speaking about the development of sports in the country, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty emphasized that Turkmenistan has rich experience in successfully hosting world-level competitions. Our state is an active participant of the international sports movement. The international level competitions held in the Olympic Village of the capital are a clear proof of this, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized.

It was also noted that the skills of Turkmen athletes are advancing, as evidenced by their successes at international tournaments.

At the end of the meeting, the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the World Ethnosport Confederation Bilal Erdogan exchanged mutual wishes of good health, happiness and great success in their work, and peace, prosperity and well-being to the two brotherly nations.

Then, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty presented the national pride of the Turkmen people – Alabays dogs - to the guest as a celebratory gift. Bilal Erdogan gratefully accepted the gift and expressed his sincere gratitude to the National Leader of Turkmen people.

During his stay in Turkmenistan, the head of the World Ethnosport Confederation has visited the city of Arkadag, built on the initiative of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan in accordance with the concept of «smart city», where he got acquainted with various facilities built. The guest was particularly impressed by the use of innovative solutions taking into account environmental requirements.
