Today, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, who arrived in our country on a visit previous evening, participated in the opening ceremony of a new building for the UN Office in Turkmenistan.
The event was also attended by heads of ministries and departments, university rectors, heads and staff of UN missions in Turkmenistan, as well as media representatives.
During the opening ceremony, Guterres expressed sincere gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Government of our country for their comprehensive assistance and support over the years. He expressed confidence that Turkmenistan-UN cooperation will continue to develop dynamically in all priority areas.
Turkmenistan views the UN and its specialized structures as the supporting pillar of the global interaction system and a guarantor of preserving peace and maintaining the sustainability of the existing security architecture throughout the entire planet. This is evidenced by Turkmenistan's accession to over 90 international conventions, which have become a reliable basis for long-term partnership in joint projects and programs.
By actively participating in developing balanced solutions to current global issues, our Motherland contributes significantly to promoting diplomacy of peace and mutual respect, strengthening global security and stability, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
