President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, following talks with United Nations General-Secretary Antonio Guterres, awarded the distinguished guest with the jubilee medal of Turkmenistan «On the 300th Anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi».
«In our independent, neutral country, in the year of «The Fount of the Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi», the jubilee medal of Turkmenistan «On the 300th Anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi» was established in honour of the great master of words. I decided to award you the first issue of this medal and signed the corresponding Decree. Now I will present you with great pleasure this medal», –said the head of the Turkmen state.
To the applause of those present, this high award was presented to the UN General-Secretary.
The distinguished guest was awarded this jubilee medal for his great personal contribution to strengthening the independence, sovereignty and neutrality policy of Turkmenistan, expanding and enriching the close ties of our country with world states and international organizations, peace, friendship and brotherhood between peoples and the development of mutually beneficial humanitarian cooperation, as well as on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the classic Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi.
Having expressed gratitude for the high honor, the head of the authoritative international organization emphasized the relevance of the philosophical views of the great son of the Turkmen people - the outstanding poet and philosopher of the East Magtymguly Fragi, who called through his poems for unity, friendship and humanism, the triumph of peace throughout the Earth, which is completely in tune with the main goals and objectives of the UN.
Also, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres was presented with a sovereign badge and the book “Magtymguly”, prepared on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great son of the Turkmen people, Magtymguly Fragi. The book “Magtymguly”, which contains selected poems of the great poet, was published as separate books in Turkmen, Russian and English.
