On 18 November 2024, upon the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan, Chairwoman of the Mejlis D.Gulmanova received credentials of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Turkmenistan (with residence in Tehran) Nijaz Čardaklija.
On behalf of the head of state, the speaker of the national parliament congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to the responsible post and wished him success in the development of friendly relations between the two countries.
In turn, the Ambassador conveyed to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov warm greetings from the highest leadership of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as best wishes to the Turkmen people.
During the conversation, the diplomat got acquainted with the priority vectors of Turkmenistan’s policy based on the principles of positive neutrality and equality.
Special emphasis was placed on the socio-economic programmes being implemented in the country aimed at building up the potential and diversifying the national economy, creating modern infrastructure and improving the welfare of the people.
The Ambassador was also familiarised with the structure and multilateral activities of the Turkmen parliament.
Noting the good potential for further development of partnership with Turkmenistan, the Ambassador underlined the importance of intensifying interstate relations in trade-economic sphere, as well as in the humanitarian -cultural field, which contributes to strengthening the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples.
At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Turkmenistan Nijaz Čardaklija assured that he will make every effort to further strengthen interstate cooperation.
