Today, a telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi.
After greeting each other, the heads of state expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss the priority aspects of bilateral cooperation, which is based on long-standing ties of friendship, brotherhood and good neighborliness. The President of Turkmenistan also conveyed warm greetings to his Iranian counterpart on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the holy month of Oraza and wishes of peace, well-being and prosperity to the peoples of both countries. In this regard, the best wishes were also expressed to the neighboring state on behalf of the Hero-Arkadag.
During the conversation, the head of Turkmenistan warmly recalled his official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran on June 14-15, 2022.
As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated, within the framework of the visit, positive negotiations were held in an open format, an exchange of views on various issues, important agreements were reached on promising areas of cooperation. The head of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the results of the visit gave a new impetus to the further development of interstate relations.
Touching upon a number of topical issues of international politics of mutual interest, the interlocutors stressed that the coincidence of positions on topical issues of our time, especially the consolidation of efforts to ensure peace and sustainable development, meets the common goals. The commitment of both countries to constructive interaction with authoritative international organizations, primarily with the UN and others, was confirmed.
During a telephone conversation, the interlocutors discussed the possibilities of building up interstate partnership in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, taking into account the existing prospects and modern realities. In this context, it was noted that there is a great potential for expanding cooperation in the fuel and energy, transport and communication complexes and agriculture.
Focusing on the positive nature of the Turkmen-Iranian trade and economic relations, the heads of state stressed the importance of the effective work of the joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, which is one of the main tools for deepening and diversifying productive ties.
Speaking about the importance of cultural and humanitarian interaction, which plays a big role in strengthening interstate dialogue, rapprochement of peoples, and mutual enrichment of cultures, Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi spoke in favor of expanding partnerships in this area.
Confirming the commitment of both states to unbreakable friendly and fraternal ties, the interlocutors stressed that all efforts would continue to be made to intensify the fruitful bilateral partnership in priority areas for the benefit of the Turkmen and Iranian peoples.
At the end of the telephone conversation, the heads of state expressed confidence in further successful development of Turkmen-Iranian cooperation that meets common interests, as well as the wishes of peace, well-being and prosperity to the peoples of the two countries. The President of Turkmenistan also conveyed the kindest words to the fraternal people of Iran on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
