The capital’s Congress Hall hosted the gala concert dedicated to the 27th anniversary of the country’s independence. Members of the Government, senior officials of the National Parliament, heads of military and law enforcement authorities, leaders of public organizations, ambassadors of Turkmenistan to foreign countries, elders, representatives of ministries and government agencies, academia and the arts, media and students, delegates to the first session of the People’s Council from all regions gathered in this Hall. Participants of the 21st Conference of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmens of the World and numerous foreign guests who arrived in Ashgabat to attend the festivities were among spectators. The majority of attendees received state decorations that were awarded today on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan. The gala opened with a grandiose musical performance that united on the stage the representatives of various fields of art. This stirring ode featured a footage showcasing achievements of independent neutral Turkmenistan. The program of the concert brought together a diverse mix of genres and premiere performances reflecting the rich potential and continuity of traditions of national art. Its thematic content and moral message were related to this year’s slogan, Turkmenistan: the Heart of the Great Silk Road. The solemn opening of the concert on the stage of the Congress Hall was supported by a brilliant performance by Dokmachylar folk group, a show inviting all of our country’s friends to share the joy of this marvelous holiday. The composition filled with national spirit, sincerity of child creativity and enthusiasm was presented by the winners of nationwide contests, Garaşsyzlygyň merjen däneleri and Ýaňlan, Diyarym!, together with children’s dance groups, Ruhubelent çagalar and Joşgun. Then, the best pieces of classical music, folk destans and modern dance compositions reflecting the sporting spirit of our time were performed on the stage. The audience applauded to virtuoso drummers and fiery modern rhythms. Performance by folk groups from all regions of the country, reflecting the diversity of creative traditions of the Turkmen people, received a storm of applause.
