On January 18, 2021 the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan announced the registration of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology with the support of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

On January 18, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov have made working trip around the capital with some Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, having inspected the course of construction of Congress Center, fashionable Arkadag Hotel and the Government tribune, which construction was entrusted to Bouygues Batiment International.

On January 16, the capital hosted an information briefing on the newly inaugurated infrastructure facilities: the Kerki (Turkmenistan) – Shibergan (Afghanistan) power line, a 30-kilometer-long section of the Aquina-Andkhoy railway, and the international Imamnazar (Turkmenistan) – Aquina (Afghanistan) and Serkhetabat (Turkmenistan) – Turgundi (Afghanistan) fiber-optic communication lines.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has taken part in the opening ceremony of new gas compressor station at Malay Deposit in Charjew District during his working trip to Lebap Region on January 15.

The events on occasion of the opening of 30-km railroad between Akina and Andhoy stations of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, 153-km 500 KV power line between Kerky (Turkmenistan) and Shibargan (Afghanistan) as well as international fiber optic Ymamnazar – Akina and Serhetabat – Turgundy communication lines have been held in Turkmenabat on January 14.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani launched new infrastructure facilities, namely, Akina-Andkhoy railway, built in Afghanistan at the expense of the Turkmen side, a power line and two fiber-optic communication lines.

On January 14, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who has come on a working trip to Lebap region, held offsite extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Ruhiyet Palace. Life activity of the State have been reviewed and drafts of some documents have been reviewed at the session.
