Today President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Dusen Kaseinov, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in a representative forum dedicated to the International Day of Neutrality.
Expressing gratitude to the leader of Turkmenistan for the time allotted for a personal conversation, the guest congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and, in his person, all Turkmen citizens on December 12th, the International Day of Neutrality and the 26th anniversary of our country gaining the status of Permanent Neutrality, wishing health and well-being, new outstanding success in promoting a progressive peacekeeping policy.
Continuing the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and his guest exchanged views on priority aspects of cooperation, calling for further deepening of fruitful contacts in the area of culture and art, stimulation of mutually beneficial creative exchanges. In particular, the focus was on the preparation for the 300th anniversary of the Turkmen poet-philosopher Magtymguly Fraghi.
The head of state and his guest were unanimous in the opinion that the creative heritage of the great Master of the word, permeated with lofty humanistic ideals, is the property of not only the Turkic-speaking peoples, but of all mankind, and deserves widespread popularization, especially among young people.
The active position of independent neutral Turkmenistan in pursuing a policy of universal peace and security has earned the country great prestige, as evidenced by the UN support for your initiative to declare 2021 the International Year of Peace and Trust, the head of TURKSOY noted.
In turn, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that Turkmenistan, within the framework of its foreign policy course based on the principles of positive neutrality, will continue to actively promote the establishment of close humanitarian contacts in the regional and global dimensions.
In conclusion, the President of Turkmenistan and the Secretary General of TURKSOY expressed confidence in further successful cooperation within the framework of the organization designed to play a unifying role for the peoples of the region, to promote the integration of common Turkic culture into the world cultural space.
