President Serdar Berdimuhamedov blessed the start of an important agricultural campaign- cotton picking in velayats of the country on September 11. At the regular online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on September 6, the head of the state wished cotton growers and all workers of agriculture big successes in their work.

Cotton growing –an important branch of the agro-industrial complex of Turkmenistan, that makes a weighty contribution to realisation of national programs in import replacing and enhancement of export possibilities of economy. Natural- environmental conditions of our country favour cultivation of medium and fine-fibered varieties of cotton.

With modern organisation of the manufacture based on innovative technologies, the natural cotton fibre is the most valuable raw materials for the national textile industry, production of which enjoys a great demand in the world market.

The potential of agrarian sector grows thanks to the reforms initiated by National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the given sphere and successfully continued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Prominent aspects of these reforms comprise creation of modern industrial and service infrastructure of agriculture, rational use of land and water resources and increase of the standard of farming.

As known, at the working meeting, held on September 9, the President of Turkmenistan, speaking of the upcoming cotton-picking campaign, instructed to check up once again readiness of reception points, cotton harvesting combines and motor transport to be involved in the season.

The head of the state noted that timely fulfilment of corresponding agricultural measures of high quality will ensure the gathering of cotton grown by hard working cotton growers without lost and successful realisation of reforms in the branch.

It is necessary to point out that considerable financial assets are allocated for irrigation and land improvement of farmlands and modernization of the technical park of the agro-industrial complex. For these purposes, the state regularly buys agricultural machinery from leading world manufacturers.

According to priorities of the economic policy of the President of Turkmenistan, a course on introduction of digital technologies in agriculture was adopted. In addition to it, the great attention is given to scientific selection, creation of new-zoned species of cotton with different by early maturity and high productivity.

According to the instruction of head of the state Serdar Berdimuhamedov, for trouble-free work of cotton-picking machines, round-the-clock technical and service of machines is organized and appropriate conditions for productive work and high-grade rest of machine operators, drivers and skilled cotton pickers are created in places.

Today, first caravans of motor vehicles and tractors with trailers, loaded by the "white gold» and decorated with national flags, carpets and banners arrived in reception points and ginneries of velayats.

By tradition, the start of harvest was blessed with respectable elders who prayed the Almighty for well-being and prosperity of our fatherland, native people who under the leadership of the head of the state head towards new labour victories.

On the margins of present celebrations, exhibitions of agricultural machinery, production of agricultural processing manufactures and textile industry were arranged. Musicians, singers, dancing, and folklore groups presented their concert programs. The best tenants-cotton growers and distinguished agriculturists were presented with costly gifts on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
