The contractual and legal basis of Turkmenistan-Iran relations is being strengthened

Today, a regular meeting of the joint Turkmen-Iranian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation was held in the capital. It was attended by leaders and representatives of several state bodies and business groups of the two countries.

Emphasizing the positive dynamics of building relationships in priority areas, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue deepening constructive ties in the fuel and energy, transport and communications sectors, dialogue in the field of construction and infrastructure, customs and border regulation, industry, agriculture and water management, engineering and technical developments.

Several documents were signed based on the results of the meeting of another intergovernmental commission.

Including:

- Framework Agreement between «Turkmenenergo» state electric power corporation, «Tavanir» company and «Sanergy Pishro Export and Energy Promotion» company on financing the construction of the Turkmen part of the Mary (Turkmenistan) - Mashat (Iran) electric pipeline;

-Memorandum on Cooperation between the State Agency for the Management of Highway Construction and the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the construction of the «Gumdag-Etrek-Iran border» highway;

-Protocol of the seventeenth meeting of the joint Turkmen-Iranian commission on economic cooperation.
