The Culture Week, marked by this year’s motto “International Year of Peace and Trust”, will be remembered by our country’s compatriots and guests with a bright palette of impressive events. A large-scale creative event dedicated to the Day of Cultural and Art Workers, as well as the poetry of Magtymguly Fragi, resulted in a big holiday, the purpose of which is to popularize the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, their original traditions.

The fifth day of the Week was full of interesting events organized in various parts of the Ahal velayat.

Thus, in the first half of the day, a methodological conference was held in the House of Culture of the village of Gyami, Ak Bugday etrap. Among the issues discussed were improving the activities of rural houses of culture and document flow, restoring ancient examples of dance and folklore art. Specialists in the field exchanged their accumulated experience for more productive work.

The participants paid special attention to the issues of improving document flow, which helps to optimize administrative processes, increase their transparency and efficiency, which in turn will allow cultural workers to devote more time to creative activities and interaction with the public.

One of the topics discussed was the work on the restoration of ancient examples of dance and folklore art. The efforts made in this direction demonstrate a commitment to preserving unique traditions that are an integral part of cultural identity. Experts shared their experience in the field of restoration and transmission of authentic examples of folk art, ensuring their durability and accessibility for future generations.

An exhibition of teaching aids and decorative and applied arts was also organized here, presenting the best practices and developments related to improving activities in the specialized field, as well as unique works demonstrating the skill and creativity of local craftsmen.

Then the creative event continued in the Culture House of Gokdepe etrap, where an exhibition of national musical instruments “Asyrlara ýaň salýan dessançylyk sungaty” was held under the motto “Türkmenistan – UNESCO: Diýardan ýaýran ýollar” and a concert of bagshi was held.

Recognition of the universal value of the dutar and the musical and singing art associated with it is of particular importance for our people. This indicates that folk music has always been and continues to be a symbol of peace and friendship.

The philosophy of life and value orientations of the Turkmen people – peacemakers – are embedded in the art rooted in ancient times. Bagshi musicians have carried the creative energy of creativity through the centuries, created schools, and educated successors.

The fact that the art of bagshi is studied and widely promoted in our independent Fatherland is also evidence of special respect for folk musicians and storytellers.

In the book by Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Bagshi – Harbingers of National Happiness” the connection between the talent of unsurpassed carpet weavers and the skillful performance of national music on the dutar is subtly noted.

Turkmen folk instruments are now heard in various orchestras, the dutar has an honorable place in the national musical culture. The repertoire of dutarists has also expanded, and they also perform melodies of the peoples of the world, including classical ones, bringing a unique originality to concert programs.

Together with their mentors, young talents participate in festivals and state concerts, and perform on the most prestigious stages of the country. And this is the best evidence that the art of the legendary Turkmen bagshi lives and develops at the present time.

The modern generation of “folk musicians” preserves and enhances the traditions of Turkmen music, which was clearly demonstrated by the participants of the current concert, who performed instrumental music, fragments of destans, songs based on the poems of outstanding Turkmen poets.

Masterful mastery of the instrument, careful interpretation of folklore and the desire to convey to the audience the beauty of folk melodies – these are the components of the success of the musicians, who were awarded friendly applause from numerous spectators.

All events within the framework of the Week of Culture, like the current ones, became a vivid confirmation of Turkmenistan’s desire to preserve and popularize its rich cultural heritage, which is in tune with the goals and objectives of UNESCO.

The next day of the creative event ended in the House of Culture of Anau with the premiere screening of the feature film “Parahatlyk aýdymy”, filmed by the Türkmenfilm Association named after Oguzhan, and a creative meeting with filmmakers.

The event, which brought together film lovers and representatives of the cultural community, became a significant event demonstrating the further development of domestic feature cinema.

The audience was also given the opportunity to meet and talk with directors, scriptwriters and members of the creative team, ask questions about the concept of the film, the filming process and the ideas that formed the basis of the new film.

Thus, the events of the fifth day of the Culture Week demonstrated a multifaceted approach to the development of national culture and art, reflected the scope of the large-scale work carried out under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in this direction, the purpose of which is to increase the enormous spiritual and creative potential of Turkmen society.
