Today, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who arrived in our country to participate in the first Tripartite Summit of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye, in the Avaza national tourist zone.

Having discussed issues of expansion of bilateral interaction in the economic sphere, interlocutors underlined significance of the joint Turkmen-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation, the regular meeting of which was held in Baku on November 29, 2022.

Among achievements of the Turkmen-Azerbaijan interaction interlocutors mentioned the signing of the Ashgabat Memorandum of Mutual Understating between the Governments of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan on joint exploration, exploitation and development of the hydrocarbon field of “Dostluk’ in the Caspian sea on January 21, 2021.

Interlocutors also touched upon cooperation in the humanitarian field, having spoken for further expansion of interaction in culture, science, education, healthcare and tourism.
