Today, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the VI Summit of the heads of the Caspian states.
After exchanging warm greetings, Hero-Arkadag and the Russian leader noted with satisfaction the traditionally friendly nature of interstate relations, which are dynamically developing in a wide range of areas.
President Vladimir Putin cordially congratulated Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan on his birthday and wished him good health, longevity and further success in all his noble deeds.
Thanking for the congratulations and good wishes, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesha noted that thanks to the mutual desire of the parties, Turkmen-Russian relations are filled with new content from year to year. Along with interaction in the trade-economic and humanitarian-cultural spheres, an active character is also inherent in inter-parliamentary cooperation. An effective step towards strengthening mutually beneficial contacts through legislative bodies was the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the States of Central Asia and the Russian Federation, held in Ashgabat in May this year.
Turkmen-Russian relations, based on the historical commonality and long-standing good-neighborly ties, the principles of equality and trust, are also successfully developing at the level of the regions of both countries. A clear example of this is the close partnership established between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan, St. Petersburg, the Astrakhan region and other subjects of the RF.
