Today, at the International Airport of the capital, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in our country to participate in the 15th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization.

The leaders of the two countries were photographed against the background of the State flags of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss the prospects for partnership between the countries, confirming the desire to steadily expand the multifaceted interstate dialogue, built on the foundation of centuries-old friendship and brotherhood of the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples, common history and culture, trusting relations, which are acquiring new content every year.

Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the positive dynamics of the interstate dialogue in the context of the implementation of the agreements reached during the high-level talks during the official visit of the head of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan on October 4-5, which made it possible to reach new frontiers in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

In conclusion, the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan expressed confidence that the meeting within the framework of the current ECO Summit will give an additional impetus to the intensification of bilateral relations, and will also become a significant contribution to strengthening the climate of trust and mutual understanding in the region. 

After singing the Hymns of the two states, the head of Uzbekistan went to the venue of the 15th Summit of the Organization for Economic Cooperation - a fashionable hotel with a multi-profile business center "Garagum".
