This September, marked by the glorious anniversary date - the 30th anniversary of the sacred independence of Turkmenistan, was highlighted by high international activity of ministries and departments in the context of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's successful open door policy and wide cooperation with foreign states.

The jubilee events held on behalf of the leader of the nation in the country and abroad, including conferences, creative meetings, presentations, once again clearly demonstrated the wisdom and foresight of the strategy of state development and foreign policy of the Fatherland.

As you know, the basic principle and key direction of constructive foreign policy pursued by the President of Turkmenistan lies in the development of close and multilateral ties with our closest neighbors - the states of the region.

In this context, particular importance is attached to the intensification of the dialogue with Afghanistan, is due to both the important political and economic tasks of a sustainable regional partnership, and the bonds of friendship and brotherhood of the Turkmen and Afghan peoples that go back centuries.

Consistently following the principles of peacefulness and mutual assistance, our country constantly provides support to a friendly state.

So, on September 1, by order of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, humanitarian aid was sent to Afghanistan, the reception ceremony of which took place in the village of Turgundi in Herat province with the participation of the leaders of this region, as well as members of the Turkmen diaspora. The Afghan side expressed gratitude to the leadership and people of Turkmenistan for their help and assistance.

Departing from the chronological sequence, let us note that the Afghan problematics was in the focus of numerous multilateral meetings held by Turkmenistan with partner states last month.

In particular, the situation in Afghanistan became the main topic of discussion at the September 5th meeting of special representatives of Iran, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

As part of the conversation via videoconference, a thorough exchange of views took place on the current situation in the neighboring country along with the efforts of the international community and the states of the region to expand interaction on this issue.

The Turkmen side noted the importance of regional partnership format in consolidating efforts to address issues of strengthening stability, security and sustainable development of Afghanistan, which are interconnected.

In this context, the special role of Turkmenistan in establishing peace in Afghanistan through the implementation of large-scale projects in the field of socio-economic dimension, energy, transport and communications initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was emphasized.

On September 8, an online meeting of the foreign ministers of Afghanistan's neighboring states, organized at the initiative of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, took place.

The consultations were also attended by the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Turkmen side emphasized that such meetings are viewed by our country as an opportunity to develop a unified regional approach to ensuring peace and security in Afghanistan and its further all-round development.

On the same day, a ministerial meeting was held via video link, initiated by the foreign affairs agencies of the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany. The heads of foreign affairs agencies of more than 20 states of the world and high-ranking representatives of the UN, EU and NATO were invited to participate in the dialogue.

Emphasizing the importance of creating new formats of partnership in Afghanistan, representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan stated the need to establish effective mechanisms of multilateral interaction aimed at achieving peace and civil accord in the neighboring country, ensuring security and social stability, as well as the well-being of the Afghan people.

On September 13, a high-level meeting on the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan was held in Geneva in a hybrid format, which was also attended by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and representatives of other authoritative international organizations.

Following the traditions of friendship and good-neighborliness that underlie the policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan regularly provides humanitarian support to neighboring states, including Afghanistan. In particular, on the initiative and with the assistance of our country, the construction of important social facilities - schools, hospitals and mosques - has been carried out here. The Turkmen side also systematically sends humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, including in the form of medicines and medical supplies.

Other important events of the first month of autumn were bilateral negotiations with representatives of a number of foreign states, with which, in accordance with the foreign policy pursued by the President of Turkmenistan, a mutually interested, productive dialogue has been established.

Thus, the current state and prospects of interaction based on the principles of friendship and trust became the main topic of discussion at the September 2nd meeting of the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation from the Turkmen side S. Berdimuhamedov with the State Minister of the Minister of Economy and Trade and the industry of Japan Ejima Kiyoshi, who arrived in our country on a working visit as the head of the Japanese delegation.

A conference held on September 3rd at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was devoted to the tasks set during the general lesson held by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with students and students.

Speakers, including the heads of the diplomatic corps of Turkmenistan in foreign countries, who took part in the event via videoconferencing, noted special significance of the historical speech of the leader of the nation on the historical path traversed by an independent neutral Fatherland, the social development of the native people, the duty and responsibilities of modern youth to the state and society, parents and family.

Confirmation of the importance of the Central Asian platform for promoting regional development was the fact of recognition as a document of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly of the Joint Statement on the results of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Declaration of the Dialogue of Women of Central Asian States held on August 6 this year on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea. within the framework of the forum.

These documents were published in the official languages of the United Nations and distributed among the member countries of this largest international organization.

On September 9, on the proposal of Turkmenistan, at the 102nd plenary meeting of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, a resolution "On cooperation between the United Nations and the Economic Cooperation Organization" was unanimously adopted.

As you know, within the framework of the chairmanship of Turkmenistan in the ECO, the 15th Summit of the Heads of State of this authoritative organization is scheduled to be held in Ashgabat on 28th of November this year, where prospects for expanding the framework of fruitful interaction, built on a long-term, mutually beneficial basis, will be discussed.

In the first decade of September, a two-day online training course was held on effective cooperation of government agencies with the public and the media during a pandemic and health emergencies.

International experts from Kyrgyzstan and Israel shared their vision of organizing active interaction in this area between government agencies and media representatives.

The participants exchanged views on the updating of relations between the government, civil society and organizations working in the field of media on issues of timely and full information to the population.

“Enhancing the public value of the media in Central Asia” is the theme of the 23rd annual OSCE conference for the Central Asian media, held on September 9-10 in the capital of Uzbekistan - Tashkent city in a hybrid format.

Along with representatives of mass media from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Mongolia, employees of the Foreign Policy and Diplomacy of Turkmenistan magazine of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and independent news agencies of our country took part in the forum via videoconferencing.

On September 10, representatives of Turkmenistan in an online format took part in the VI Caspian Media Forum, which brought together experts from the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Russia, and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the administrative center of the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation.

Tourism and ethnocultural communication became the main topic of the agenda. Also discussed were such issues as travel journalism in the digital era, check-in in the cultural media space, educational media projects in the new information communications system.

It should be noted that Turkmenistan, which in recent years under the leadership of the leader of the nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has been actively strengthening its presence on international platforms, including media, considers this forum as a significant practical step in strengthening professional ties in the context of political, economic and humanitarian interaction between the Caspian states.

Within the framework of the VI Caspian Media Forum, the results of the International Competition "Caspian without Borders" were summed up, among the winners of which were employees of the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".

On September 13, in the city of Tashkent, the first meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Uzbek intergovernmental commission on water issues was held, at which the prospects for interaction between the two countries in the use of water facilities and water resources of the Amu Darya River were discussed.

As part of the exchange of views on the development of bilateral and regional cooperation in the field of water management, the importance of the activities of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, the Interstate Coordination Water Commission and the Interstate Commission for Sustainable Development and their structural divisions was emphasized.

At the meeting, readiness was expressed to implement joint projects and programs in the field of rational use of water resources, introduction of new technologies, use of collector-drainage and waste waters.

A day later, the sixteenth meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Uzbek Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation was held in the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in which the heads of ministries and departments of friendly countries took part.

During the meeting, the high efficiency of bilateral meetings between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who pay great attention to the steady expansion and deepening of constructive interstate dialogue, was noted.

The issues of the climate crisis, in particular, its negative impact on the availability of water for food security and energy production, were discussed at a meeting held on September 16 in the "C5 + 1" format.

Heads of departments responsible for climate issues from the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United States of America were invited to participate.

The parties confirmed their readiness to expand partnership in the field of environmental protection within the framework of the regional diplomatic platform "C5 + 1", stressed the importance of coordinated work in the field of using renewable energy sources and supporting social transformations for segments of the population vulnerable to climate change.

On September 17, a meeting was held on cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the UN in strengthening statistical capacity and reporting on the implementation of national SDGs, the Socio-Economic Response Plan and the Framework Program for Cooperation in Sustainable Development between Turkmenistan and the UN for 2021–2025.

The meeting participants noted the importance of active joint activities on a systematic basis, aimed at the comprehensive implementation of the fundamental documents for the implementation of the Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The progress of work on the creation of the National Database on the SDGs of Turkmenistan, as well as on the preparation for the upcoming 2022 Population and Housing Census was discussed.

On September 21, on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Foreign Ministry hosted the signing ceremony of a joint program with the United Nations on Raising Awareness and Engaging Youth to Mitigate the Multidimensional Risks and Threats Associated with the Global Pandemic. On behalf of the UN, the document was signed by the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko.

This project is aimed at strengthening the capacity of government officials at the local level, as well as implementing the Socio-Economic Response Plan, taking into account an integrated approach to ensuring human security.

On September 22, on the sidelines of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, a video meeting of the foreign ministers of the Central Asian countries and the United States took place in the C5 + 1 format.

The US Secretary of State and the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan reaffirmed the special importance of the C5 + 1 regional diplomatic platform, noting its usefulness for discussing and taking urgent action on pressing issues of the regional and international agenda.

During a constructive conversation, the heads of the foreign ministries expressed interest in continuing the diplomatic dialogue aimed at strengthening cooperation in countering threats and challenges to regional security.

In addition, key areas of interaction between the Central Asian countries and the United States in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian fields were discussed.

On the same day, an online meeting of Turkmen representatives with the Coordinator of "EXPO-2020 Dubai" for work with foreign participants Omar Shehade took place.

The parties noted the high level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates in a wide range of areas, stressing the importance of this international show from the point of view of the development of bilateral trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.

The celebration of the glorious 30th anniversary of the sacred independence of the Motherland was in the center of attention of many foreign publications. In commemoration of this significant event, various events and celebrations were held in the country and abroad.

On the eve of the holiday, special issues of the magazines "Yerli düşünce" and "Istanbool Today" in the Republic of Turkey, "Galkynysh" in the Republic of Austria, "Business Central Asia" in India, as well as "The Diplomatic Insight" in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were devoted to the history of independence of Turkmenistan , large-scale achievements of the country in politics, economy, social and legal spheres, science and culture, achieved under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The readership is presented with materials about important international initiatives put forward by the Turkmen leader, priority directions of the current foreign policy course, energy and environmental diplomacy of our country.

In honor of the anniversary of state independence, the Embassies and consulates of Turkmenistan abroad held conferences, forums, exhibitions, concerts and other events.

Thus, the Consulate General of our country in the city of Herat organized a conference, which was attended by representatives of the Turkmen diaspora living in the provinces of Herat and Badghis.

The forum participants sincerely congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Turkmen people on the 30th anniversary of state sovereignty and expressed gratitude for the friendly support and humanitarian assistance provided to the Afghan people.

The Embassy of our country in the Republic of Turkey in honor of the main holiday of the country and the proclamation of 2021 as the International Year of Peace and Trust at the Kyrshehir Ahi Evran University organized a concert of Turkmen students studying at this university, as well as an exhibition of books by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and cultural values of the Turkmen people.

In the Turkish city of Samsun, a conference was held with the participation of professors, teachers and students of Ondokuz Mayis University, within which an exhibition and a festive concert were also organized.

A special seminar organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States was held in Seattle to mark the 30th anniversary of our country's independence. The main topic of the meeting, to which our compatriots - citizens and students of Turkmenistan were invited, was the forward-looking foreign policy pursued by the leader of the nation aimed at ensuring international peace, security and sustainable development.

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland held a festive event, which was attended by teachers and students of prestigious universities in London, as well as representatives of the Turkmen diaspora.

Residents and guests of the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, were able to get to know more about modern Turkmenistan, its successes and achievements. On huge screens installed along one of the central streets of the city, videos dedicated to the 30th anniversary of our country's independence were broadcast.

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia organized a festive event, during which the successes achieved by our state over the years of sovereignty were also noted.

On the night of September 26-27, in honor of the 30th anniversary of independence of our country in the capital of Kazakhstan - the city of Nur-Sultan, the building of Nur Alem museum was illuminated in the colors of the State flag of Turkmenistan.

Thus, the presented review of diverse events of September 2021 became another evidence of the effectiveness of the peacekeeping policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, aimed at strengthening the foundations of peace, global security and mutual understanding on the planet.
