President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected medical helicopter ANSAT, which was delivered to our country and designated for provision emergency medical services to the population.

This event is a visual evidence that improvement and development of national health protection sphere is a priority aspect of the government policy of Turkmenistan. Have proclaimed health as the main value of the country, the President holds health protection of the population, prevention and timely treatment of diseases, assertion of the principles of healthy life style under permanent attention.

The head of the state has come to helipad of medical facilities located in the south of the country for inspection of new equipment of medical aviation, which was produced by Kazan Helicopter Plant (the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation) at the work order of the Türkmenhowaýollary Agency.

Minister of Health Protection and Medical Industry N. Amannepesov expressed gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for permanent attention to development of healthcare system highlighting that new helicopter is an excellent gift to the residents of the capital and all Turkmenistan citizens on the threshold of the 140^th anniversary of Ashgabat and 30^th anniversary of the country’s independence.

Reporting on the main technical specifications of the helicopter, the minister has noted that it designated for provision of emergency medical services in urban conditions, rapid transportation of patients to specialized clinics. This helicopter is provided with modern equipment for the first and emergency medical aid and intensive care on the spot including to citizens who received injuries.

The head of the state has studied in details the work of specialized diagnostic and health monitoring equipment on board the helicopter. In particular, such parameters as ECG, content of oxygen and carbon dioxide in patient’s body, blood pressure and other are displayed on the monitor using special sensors.

Being an equipment from the leading world producers, this equipment was made taking into account the speed, vibration, ascending of the helicopter and other factors. Throughout the years, it was used effectively on these helicopters. In particular, medical module of ANSAT is equipped with digital defibrillator, which automatically analyzes the heart beat and re-start it if it is necessary.

It also has an artificial lung ventilation unit or so-called ventilator. Multi-purpose character of this high-technology equipment used for cardiopulmonary resuscitation of adults, children and new born babies is worth to be mentioned. The equipment starts automatic supply of oxygen after entering the age of the patient.

Drainage aspirator, which advantage is that it can be connected to onboard medical equipment, is among special portable equipment. It provides significant help to medical personnel allowing them giving necessary aid to the patient without losing time.

In addition, the helicopter has emergency intubation kit, which is used for stabilization of work of respiratory system by provision of clear airways and artificial lung ventilation. It is also convenient for using during transportation of patients.

It is also equipped with a kit of various braces, which are used to immobilize patient with spinal cord, neck, arm or leg injuries.

Owing to its flight and technical characteristics, ANSAT is able to perform an emergency missions in hard conditions. It has special equipment for cooling and heating of necessary solutions. There are lockers for medical and consumable supplies required for intensive care and emergency medical aid.

Maximum speed of the aircraft is 275 km/h, the flying range is 510 km. Additional landing equipment allows landing in mountain, sand and deserted areas as well as in the place with difficult access. All of this is a distinguishing feature of this model from other helicopters available in the country.

As it was noted that this high-speed helicopter, which meets relevant international standards and provided with modern technologies, is designated for rapid transportation of patients within urban area.

Medical section of the helicopter has various stretchers, mobile ECG unit and monitor defibrillator, infusion pumps, artificial lung ventilation equipment and automatic aspirators.

The helicopter has boxes for cooling and heating of medicine, various first aid kit for provision of first medical help, glucose meter, pulse oximeter, thermometer, multifunctional braces, various tools and equipment designated for patients with burns and other consumables.

It is worth to mention that special helipad has been built near big medical complexes, which were erected in the capital at the initiatives of the leader of the nation. Similar helipads are provided near hotels.

During the presentation, the minister of health protection and medical industry has informed good news about successful first kidney transplantation operation made in our country. One of close relatives of the person, who have suffered from renal failure for several years, was a donor of the kidney. This complicated surgery has been made by Turkmen specialists. At present time, the condition of the patient and donor is satisfactory, they are under medical monitoring.

Having accepted the news with satisfaction, head of the state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov cordially congratulated medical personnel noting that this surgery is a big success of our doctors and health protection sphere.

After looking around the helicopter, the minister has expressed gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the conditions made for rendering emergency medical services to the population wishing him good health, long years and success in the government activity.

Having inspected the helicopter, the head of the state highlighted that together with improvement of quality of services provided, strengthening and modernization of equipment and facility base is one of the priorities of the strategy of development of national healthcare system.

At the same time, Chairman of the Türkmenhowaýollary Agency D. Saburov has reported on work for intensification of bilateral cooperation with profile facilities of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation for development of civil aviation of our country. It was informed that supply of helicopters, which are efficient in climate local conditions, is among the utmost measures undertaken under the agreements reached on the highest level.

Having listened to the report, the head of the state requested to continue targeted work ordering Chairman of the Türkmenhowaýollary Agency D. Saburov and Minister of Health Protection and Medical Industry N. Amannepesov to study the opportunity to buy similar equipment for all regions of the country after practical tests of new helicopter.

Continuing, the President has ordered Chairman of the Türkmenhowaýollary Agency D. Saburov, Minister of Interior M. Chakiyev and Minister of Health Protection and Medical Industry N. Amannepesov to continue working in this direction, having ordered to use the helicopters in work of the State Commission for Emergency Situations if necessary.
