A festive concert, dedicated to the International Day of Neutrality took place at the Palace of Mukams of the State Cultural Centre. This date symbolizes the recognition of the foreign-policy status of our country as an important factor for ensuring the culture of peace in the region and all around the world by the Commonwealth of Nations. It testifies to the outstanding achievements of the diplomatic activity of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, whose initiative on declaring the date of Turkmenistan’s adoption of neutrality as the International Day of Neutrality was approved by the United Nations Organization. The heads of Mejlis, government officials, heads of military and law-enforcement agencies, public organizations, diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Ashgabat, the ambassadors of Turkmenistan to foreign countries, the representatives of ministries and departments, higher educational institutions and mass media, the elders and youth gathered together in the Palace of Mukams. The concert started with the pathetic ode, dedicated to the remarkable date performed by People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Atageldy Garyagdiyev and the chorus of Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National conservatoire. Children’s and youth groups: Güneş, Aşgabat, Aýjan, Ruhubelent çagalar and Joşgun performed the literary and musical composition “Pacifist”. The most famous artists in the country as well as young popular singers took part in the concert. The concert that included the melodies, dances and songs of different peoples vividly illustrated the international character of Turkmen neutralism. The amazing panorama of the concert, which became a fascinating journey along the Great Silk Road, reflected the openness and multi-vector policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan and once again highlighted the role of culture, art, creative ties in a trustful and mutually enriching dialogue between the countries and peoples.
