On December 10, 2024, in accordance with the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairwoman of the Mejlis (Parliament) D. Gulmanova received credentials of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Turkmenistan Jesper Vahr.
On behalf of the Head of State, the chief of the National Parliament congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to the high diplomatic post, as well as wished him success in strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Thanking for kind words and hospitality, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the leadership of his country to the esteemed President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as to the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag and the whole Turkmen nation.
During the meeting, the diplomat got acquainted with the main vectors of domestic and foreign policy of Turkmenistan.
The Ambassador was also informed about the activities of the Mejlis aimed at ensuring large-scale reforms, advanced economic progress and elevation of the welfare of the people. It was noted that Turkmenistan puts among the priorities the development of democratic institutions, improvement of national legislation, aligning it with generally accepted international norms.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark highly appraised the prospects of partnership with Turkmenistan in bilateral and multilateral formats, including through inter-parliamentary relations, international organizations and within the framework of Turkmenistan’s dialogue with the countries of the European Union.
At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Jesper Vahr assured that he would make every effort to further strengthen the friendly relations between Denmark and Turkmenistan, which meet the interests of both countries and peoples.
