Today, at the Center of the International Association of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding and the International Association “Türkmen alabaý itleri,” a ceremony was held to present the Certificate confirming the inclusion of the national nomination “The Art of Breeding the Turkmen Alabay” in UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Today, the candle-lighting ceremony of the country’s main New Year’s tree took place in the Turkmen capital, traditionally preceding the events celebrating the arrival of the beloved and long-awaited, joyful, and kind holiday – the New Year.
On the 11th of December, 2025, during the ongoing 20th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO in New Delhi, Republic of India, a final decision was made to include the nomination «The Art of breeding the Turkmen Alabay» put forward by Turkmenistan into the Representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
On December 9, 2025, the opening ceremony of a branch of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
On December 4, 2025, Ashgabat, which achieved significant results in developing the country’s science and education system and created the necessary conditions for citizens of all ages to learn and gain knowledge throughout their lives, was admitted to the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, together with 72 cities from 46 countries. This decision recognized the high achievements of the capital of Turkmenistan in this field.
A special issue of the quarterly magazine ECO Heritage, published by the Institute of Culture of the Economic Cooperation Organization, has been published to mark the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent Neutrality. It contains articles devoted to important events in the political and cultural life of our country during this significant year, the importance of the legally neutral status of the Motherland, which was unanimously recognized three times at the international level, the development of friendly, fraternal bilateral and multilateral partnerships, as well as the rich national heritage of the Turkmen people.
