Today, a solemn event and a festive conference were held here, dedicated to the second anniversary of the founding of the city of Arkadag, which is a visible symbol of the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state.

The commissioning of this unique metropolis, which received a special legal status of a city of national importance on a legislative basis, is the result of the grandiose transformations launched in Turkmenistan, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and consistently continued under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The new city, erected in one of the most ancient corners of the Turkmen land, where the glorious history of the ancestors originates, is an exemplary example of a smart city, in whose life activities digital, information and communication and «green» technologies are integrated. Here, the best traditions of national architecture and modern trends in the field of architecture and design are harmoniously combined. The created complex infrastructure, which meets international standards, including in the environmental sphere, provides optimal comfort and convenience for residents. 

Over the past two years, the city of Arkadag has been awarded prestigious international certificates and awards confirming high performance in the field of «smart» urban development program, innovative opportunities and environmental level.

Last year, the city was awarded the main prize of the International Exhibition «World Smart City Expo 2024» held in the Republic of Korea – «For outstanding achievements in the field of «smart» city», international awards «Foreign «smart» city» and «For great contribution to the World Exhibition» «World Smart City Expo 2024», as well as the quality award «Quality Choice-2024» of the «Diamond» category from the European Society for Quality Research, located in Vienna. This testifies to the growing authority of the city of Arkadag as a «smart» city not only in the region, but also in the world.

As you know, the construction of the city of Arkadag is planned to be carried out in two stages. Currently, the second stage of development is ongoing. With its implementation, not only industrial enterprises that form a modern industrial cluster will be put into operation, but also social infrastructure facilities, including a children's entertainment park, a mosque in the city of Arkadag, etc.

As part of the first stage, 336 buildings were erected. These are comfortable two- and multi-storey residential buildings, public, educational, medical and cultural facilities, sports facilities and engineering systems.

All work carried out at the proper quality level meets international standards. A digital system has been introduced in educational institutions, and a smart home system has been introduced in residential buildings. Specially developed software contributes to the stability of the process and provides detailed information on the characteristics of all controlled devices.

Particular attention is paid to the relevant aspect - ecology. Thus, environmentally friendly materials were used in the construction of facilities. This is evidenced by the fact that the city of Arkadag was awarded a certificate of accession to the project «Development of sustainable, green, climate-friendly cities with innovative solutions in the OSCE region», a certificate of excellence from Hangzhou Dianzi University as an outstanding «green», environmentally friendly city.

A set of necessary measures has been taken to ensure the environmental cleanliness of the new city. In particular, for its harmonious coexistence with the surrounding nature, many trees and flowers have been planted along the streets and in the adjacent territory, and a road and transport infrastructure has been formed that meets environmental requirements. Wide spacious avenues, streets and interchanges are equipped with modern lighting, video surveillance and control systems.

With the introduction of a fiber-optic communication system in the new city, it became possible to use high-speed Internet. To ensure high-quality cellular communication, a 4G equipment complex was put into operation.

It should be noted that the day before, during another trip to the city of Arkadag, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag gave his blessing for the introduction of 5G technology in communication and Internet systems here in honour of the 2nd anniversary of the city's founding. This decision corresponds to the legal status of the city, built on the basis of the «smart city» concept.

This technology is important for the relevant departments and industries in managing the operation of smart city and smart home systems, healthcare, education, industry and agriculture, including for holding online conferences, implementing artificial intelligence capabilities, accelerating the exchange of information in the treatment of patients via a digital network.

Since the foundation, the construction of the city has been in the centre of constant attention of Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Each working trip of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to the city of Arkadag is invariably associated with a detailed familiarisation with the affairs at key construction sites. The balanced and thoughtful recommendations of Hero-Arkadag regarding the functionality of objects, the reliability and safety of buildings, their external design become a guide to action for designers, architects, builders and designers.

When preparing building projects within the framework of the second stage of development, it is necessary to take into account the requirements of the modern urban development program and actively implement digital technologies, said Hero-Arkadag. It was emphasised that the head of state pays great attention to the use of intellectual property products and the effective application of the latest technologies in construction and finishing works.

The assignment of names of outstanding figures of the Turkmen people to the streets, avenues, and institutions of the city of Arkadag evokes a sense of pride.

The name of the avenue «Ahalteke atlary» is especially symbolic, since this region is considered the original homeland of the Ahal-Teke horses.

The installation of the Akhan horse monument in the city of Arkadag, recognised as a remarkable achievement of a large-scale urban development program, which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records, as well as the «Taýçanak» monument, serves as a clear evidence of the people's love for the famous horses.

The city of Arkadag is designed as an environmentally friendly and well-maintained city, with electric buses and cars, «smart» parking and the use of solar and wind energy. Local media, including a TV channel and a newspaper, are operating, and a football team has been created.

In this way, a well-thought-out concept of urban development is being implemented step by step, reflecting the economic state of our state, the level of culture and spiritual life of society, intellectual potential, the main social processes and principles, in the aspect of which all changes of the new time occur.

Today, in the city of Arkadag, on the occasion of the second anniversary of its creation, numerous new residents were presented with keys to comfortable apartments and houses, which increased the festive mood.

A joyful atmosphere reigns everywhere, music and songs are heard, creative teams demonstrate their skills.

Residents proudly talked about the advantages of «smart» home technologies, providing maximum comfort of living.

For example, well-placed motion sensors allow the light to turn on only at the location of a person. The houses have automated curtains and blinds, which contribute to more efficient use of daylight and heat. For this, the system is designed to work in automatic mode, taking into account the time of day, season and weather outside.

A security system with remote control via mobile phones or voice commands has become a comprehensive solution for home security. Ensuring technical safety, protection against flooding, water and gas leaks, smoke, warning about electrical wiring faults - all this is an important task of a «smart» home. The system can neutralise an emergency situation itself and promptly notify the owner of the apartment, provide him with information on the consumption of electricity, gas and water, remotely regulate the air temperature in the room, etc.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero-Arkadag were expressed deep gratitude for their constant concern for the prosperity of the Fatherland, the creation of all conditions for a comfortable life, creative work and full rest of the Turkmen people. The new residents noted that thanks to the initiatives of the head of state, the life of the population is consistently improving.

Everything that is new in the field of construction technologies is used in the city of Arkadag. This is the only such city on the map of Central Asia, where initially and completely all life support systems are controlled by electronic systems. With the implementation of the second stage of construction, the smart city will enter a new phase of development and its history as a city of innovation, high urban culture and investment activity.

In the afternoon, a festive conference «Arkadag şäheri - röwşen geljegiň aýdyň ýoly» was held in the conference hall of the Arkadag city administration, which was attended by the Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan, heads and representatives of the administration of the hakimlik, institutions and industry departments of the new city, the private sector, honourary elders, gray-haired mothers, and the media. 

In the welcoming address of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the residents of Arkadag, it is emphasised that today in the new city, which was built thanks to the wisdom of the Hero Arkadag, a happy life is flourishing. For residents, according to the concept of «smart city», buildings and social facilities, high-comfort residential buildings, branches of ministries, industry departments, banks and other significant structures have been built. The city has wide avenues, modern lighting and management systems, its residents and guests are served at the proper level by modern transport.

 Having the legal status of a city of national importance on a legislative basis, it demonstrates to the world the successes of international cooperation of independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan. Confirmation of this is the holding of international forums, conferences, festivals, competitions, major cultural events here. «We will continue the construction of the second stage of this city for the benefit of our people, glorifying our Motherland with its beauty and modernity», the message of the head of state says. 

The forum participants emphasised that the successful implementation of the socio-economic strategy of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the industrialisation of the national economic complex and the development of industrial sectors allow our country to invest huge amounts in large-scale urban development. Modern cities, towns and villages, scientific and educational facilities, healthcare, culture, manufacturing enterprises are systematically put into operation. The appearance of the Fatherland is changing, becoming more beautiful every day. All this demonstrates that our independent country is confidently following the path of progress and prosperity.

As emphasised, the city of Arkadag, the construction of which was initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, is among the significant achievements of our powerful state. The start of this project was given in 2019, and thanks to the constant attention and support of the Hero-Arkadag, today this first «smart» city in our country has acquired a magnificent appearance.

 The decision to build industrial facilities in the city of Arkadag is another clear evidence of the great attention paid by the Government of Turkmenistan to strengthening the national economy, ensuring the well-being and happy life of its population. Acceleration of the pace of socio-economic development in the modern epoch is one of the priority areas of state policy. At the same time, important tasks include creating conditions for strengthening the material and technical base of all spheres, training qualified personnel, and affirming the principles of a healthy lifestyle in society.

Wide involvement of private companies in urban development, as well as in the implementation of national programs, is one of the key vectors of Turkmenistan's policy in supporting entrepreneurship in the country. Members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs work on hundreds of industrial, social, domestic and cultural facilities in different parts of the country. More than 50 domestic companies and individual enterprises are participating in the implementation of the second stage of the development of the city of Arkadag. At the same time, both domestic and leading foreign companies are involved in the construction of medical cluster facilities. 

The forum delegates noted that the medical institutions of the new city meet international standards. The healthcare system includes several medical facilities. Among them are the Multidisciplinary Hospital, the Children's Health and Rehabilitation Centre, the Oncology Centre, the Centre for the Protection of Maternal and Child Health, the Emergency Centre, and the Polyclinic. All this not only stimulates the modernization of the healthcare system, but also contributes to the transformation of Turkmenistan into one of the medical centres of the region. 

Within the framework of the concept of creating a production complex of the medical cluster in the city of Arkadag, the enterprise «Arkadag Medisina Klasteri Menejment» was opened, which produces products from local raw materials that are in demand in the healthcare system on a daily basis and meet international quality standards. The products of the medical cluster are registered at the international level, and the trademarks are confirmed by a special certificate of the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organisation.

Let us remind that in March 2021, on the initiative and thanks to the efforts of Hero Arkadag, the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was established with the headquarters located in the city of Arkadag to provide social protection to young Turkmen citizens and ensure their happy life.

During the forum, an exchange of views took place on important issues of digital and «green» transformation in the interests of sustainable development. It was emphasised that advanced technologies open up new opportunities for economic growth, public service management, and also have great potential for improving the management of natural resources.

As noted, one of the main requirements for the construction of numerous facilities in this modern metropolis was the use of environmentally friendly materials that create favourable living conditions for city residents.

The conference participants expressed their confidence that the city of Arkadag will become not only a convenient and comfortable place for people to live, but also a centre for the development of science and technology, education, sports, broad international business partnerships, and the creative potential of young people.

At the end of the festive conference, its participants adopted a thank-you address addressed to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

As part of the forum, an exhibition of various products and developments was organized, where information and photographs were presented dedicated to the architectural features of the city, the results of the introduction of a digital system and innovative technologies into its infrastructure.

Among the special exhibits of the show were international certificates awarded to the city of Arkadag, the books of the Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar.

… In the evening, performances of domestic artists and foreign performers took place on the Arkadag Binasy Square.

The magnificent overture of the concert was the composition «Ýaşa, mähriban Arkadag!» with the participation of the folklore ensemble «Dokmaçylar», reflecting the depth of love and respect of the Turkmen people for the Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which combined the art of song, music and dance. Then, in the literary and musical composition «Gahryman Arkadagymyz - halkyň ykbalyna nur-çyragymyz!», inspiredly performed by soloists, the choir of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kulyyeva and creative groups of the country, including the city of Arkadag, the wisdom of the Hero-Arkadag was glorified, whose foresight laid a solid foundation for peace and harmony in the Fatherland.

A heartfelt immersion into the wealth of folk art was given by young talents from the children's folklore groups «Şowhun», «Şatlyk», «Ruhubelent çagalar», the city of Arkadag and the violin ensemble «Mukam». The pure sound and sincerity of the touching composition «Biz bagtyň gujagynda» filled the space with joy, conveying all the beauty and originality of national folklore. 

Each performance was accompanied by congratulations and heartfelt wishes to the Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov - the initiator of the progressive reforms and innovative urban development policy carried out in the Fatherland. Words were heard about selfless love for the sovereign Fatherland, the achievements of the President of Turkmenistan in the modern epoch, worthily continuing great undertakings. 

The songs and melodies performed at the concert harmoniously combined with the video footage of the nature and sights of the city of Arkadag. 

The masters of arts and young artists who performed here sang the achievements of the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state and sincere love for the Motherland.

A real gift for the audience were dance compositions, as well as popular melodies and songs performed by foreign artists from the Republic of Tatarstan, the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russian Federation), Türkiye, Uzbekistan.

The festive mood was increased by the performance of the song of the Hero-Arkadag «Kalbymda sen» by the People's Artist of Turkmenistan P. Amandurdyyev. The audience listened to the song about women's happiness and fidelity, motherly love and the beauty of the Fatherland with great enthusiasm. The Hero Arkadag's song «Garaşyp ýazlaryň joşan wagtyna» performed for the first time at the concert decorated the current event and also became a wonderful gift for everyone.

The song «Gahryman Serdarly bagtly halkymyz, ýaşa, ýaşa, gahryman Arkadagymyz!» performed by all participants of the festive event sounded like a powerful final chord of the celebration.

The atmosphere of a real national celebration reigned at the concert dedicated to the second anniversary of the city of Arkadag. Modern lighting equipment, creating multi-coloured overflows, set an incendiary rhythm to the solemn event.
