Co-organized by the Turkmen State Information Agency (TDH) and the Executive Committee of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, a climbing expedition is now well underway and is progressing. The sporting and patriotic event was launched to celebrate State Flag Day of Turkmenistan and the Year of Health and Inspiration: a national flag and a symbol of the 2017 Asian Games would be planted on the country’s highest peak - Airybaba.

A delegation of Turkmenistan will be on a visit to the city of Sapporo (Japan) on February 17-28 to participate in the 69th OCA Executive Committee meeting. During the visit, representatives of our country will attend the official opening ceremony of the 8th Asian Winter Games to become acquainted with their organization.

In celebration of State Flag Day, Turkmen mountain climbers have been making annual ascents to the highest peak of Turkmenistan, the Airybaba (3,139 m), for about 20 years to plant a national flag on the summit of the mountain.

Today in Minsk, in the Palace of Sports, XXI international sambo tournament of category ""A"" - open championship of Byelorussia in sports and combat sambo for the prizes of President Alexander Lukashenko has finished. On the second day of competitions the national team of Turkmenistan has won five more medals - two gold, two silver and one bronze.

Seven medals - four gold, one silver and two bronze, have been won by Turkmenistan team on the first day of XXI international tournament in category “A” of the open championship of the Republic of Belarus in classical and combat Sambo for awards of the President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk. 14 medal events have been held on this day in total.
