Enhancement of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Qatar is of particular importance given that Ashgabat will host the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in 2017.

Within the scope of preparation for the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, National Sport Dance Team of Turkmenistan proceeds to completion the training camp in the Republic of Belarus, Mogilev city. «Turkmenistan. Sports» - so the new magazine the first issue of which was released out of print, is titled. The debut issue of the sports almanac is devoted to the year of health and inspiration, the 5th Asian indoor and martial arts games which will be hosted in Ashgabat in September.

The International Conference dedicated to preparation for the upcoming V Asian Games in Ashgabat is scheduled for 7 April. Representatives of Olympic federations of all sports included in the program of Asiada–2017 will be invited to attend the forum.

At the VIII Winter Asian Games in Sapporo the team of Turkmenistan reached the final of the hockey competition, being in the lead in the group ""B"" of the second division after the third victory - this time over the Indonesian team (12: 2).
