Results of the first half of the year, uttered during extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers on July 7, proved the efficiency of economic strategy of the State. According to the given information, average salary wage grew up to 9 percent during six months of the year as the result of increase of profit of the State budget.

The development of culture and state ideology based on the Turkmen nation’s spiritual values is a special and priority objective of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov’s multifaceted policy. Specified tasks given to the relevant senior officials by the head of state at the enlarged Cabinet session held on July 7 to sum up the six-month outcomes, serve as an illustration of this.

The primary goals of the executive committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea - maintenance of practical realisation of decisions of the Council of heads of the states-founders, the President and Board of IFAS on problems of the basin of the Aral sea; development, conduction of inspection and realisation of programs and projects directed to the improvement of ecological conditions of the Aral sea basin. The committee co-ordinates activity of branches, special agencies and funds for improvement of social and ecological conditions in the Aral sea basin located in the territories of the states-founders of IFAS, assistance of work of the Interstate Commission on Water Coordination (ICWC) and the Interstate Commission on Sustainable Development (ICSD).

The development of the transport infrastructure of the country's regions is an important component of large international projects implemented by Turkmenistan, of the state transport strategy. This activity is aimed at involving the territories in active economic, trade-economic and social-humanitarian interaction, increasing their investment potential, stimulating entrepreneurship in rural areas and industrial integration.

The Constitution of Turkmenistan, adopted in new edition in September 2016, declares a man to be the supreme value of society and the state. “Protection, support of human and service to him are the main tasks of bodies of state power,” was enshrined in the country’s Basic Law.

In April, on the basis of the capital's Olympic town, three Asian championships took place: kickboxing, weightlifting and swimming. During the competition, Turkmen athletes won 96 medals - 30 gold, 32 - silver and 34 - bronze. Moreover, in the fight tournament our compatriots took the first place in the team event.

The “Concept of the foreign policy line of Turkmenistan for 2017-2023” emphasizes: “Cooperation with the states in the region on the principles of mutual understanding and mutual trust is the main condition for maintaining and strengthening peace and security in Central Asia. This also determines the dynamic socio-economic development of the region”.

The development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade, economic and investment spheres is intended to facilitate the realization of Turkmenistan's economic capacity. The share of foreign investments put into in the Turkmen economy is growing steadily; the number of investment projects and joint ventures is increasing.

The festivities and the Congress “2017 Asian Games: International cooperation in sports in the name of peace and progress” held in the Avaza National Tourism Zone on occasion of the World Health Day brought together numerous foreign delegations and the guests of honour from different countries.

Every year, the first Sunday of April is celebrated in Turkmenistan under the motto “Drop of water – grain of gold!”.This national holiday reflects ancestral traditions of the Turkmen people, who, during their millennia-old history, have held dear and sacred and preserved the respect for water as a priceless gift representing the life itself.
