In the strategy of diversification and complex modernisation of economy of Turkmenistan the textile complex occupies one of the leading places, having a powerful industrial infrastructure and a raw-material basis. By its natural and environmental conditions our country is a unique zone for cultivation of the most valuable grades of medium and fine-fibered cotton. And if at the start of formation of industry in independent neutral Turkmenistan no more than 3-4 per cent of all raw cotton was processed in the country, now its capacities are capable of processing more than half of raw cotton received from ginneries. Upon modern organisation of manufacture based on innovative technologies, natural cotton fibre is the most valuable raw material, one of the most favourable export goods. Indeed, the demand for clothes and a huge range production from ecologically clean raw materials steadily grows in the world. Cotton not simply covers the deficit of textile raw materials, but by certain indicators, it also surpasses wool and flax. Thanks to an investment of considerable investments into building of new highly technological enterprises with participation of foreign partners it was possible to adjust delivery diversified production which assortment steadily grows to the extensive home market adequately competing to the goods of foreign manufacturers. In favour of its competitive advantages efficiency of the technological chain «raw materials - finished goods» within the limits of several large industrial structures textile cluster has played. As a vivid example for that by its unique possibilities the Ruhabat textile complex and Ashgabat textile complex - the largest profile enterprises in the Central Asian region can serve. Making simultaneously different in the structure and manufacturing techniques an export-oriented production, they thus provide in full requirements of home market. Manufacture of first class woven production has given a powerful impulse to development of sewing and knitted sectors of domestic textile industry, home market saturation by beautiful and qualitative products of local manufacture successfully replacing import goods that, in turn, has allowed expanding considerably volumes and assortment of export of production with the label «Made in Turkmenistan». It is essential to increase volumes of ready-made clothes, including at the expense of release of a specialised uniform for workers of various departments and also promoted capital reconstruction of leading garment factories of the country such as Ashgabat - ""Akhal"", Dashoguz - ""Cheper"", Mary - ""Yenish"", and also Turkmenbashi garment factory. The implementation of the program for import replacement providing creation of new industrial productions or reshaping operating ones became an important factor for balanced development of all sectors of the branch. The rational decision of this task has allowed to reduce essentially import of production at the expense of a wide spectrum of local quality goods and for reasonable price. Today the modernised industrial basis of the branch numbering about seventy of objects - large complexes, cotton spinning, weaving, clothing ,knitted and silk enterprises, allows to produce a year as many as 118 thousand tons of cotton yarn, 178 million square metres of fabrics. And it considerably exceeds internal requirements - 70 per cent of textiles made in our state make a powerful share of export, involving foreign consumers with ecological cleanliness, technological quality and fine design. It is important to notice that its essential part is ready made local textile goods which are let out under world famous trademarks «IKEA», «Ltd. », «River Island» and others. The industrial productions focused on output, earlier not made in our country urged to serve the purposes of increase of export potential of the branch. So, on the basis of the Ashkhabad textile complex in 2016 the shop for processing of textile waste by a capacity of 5 thousand tons of recycled fibre a year was established. The new industrial line for the first time introduced in Turkmenistan, will soon allow adjusting output process for which there is a great demand in a number of foreign countries, such as Turkey, China and others. In the foreign textile market twist yarn which has been started to let out at the Kaka cotton spinning factory ""Serdar"" , also enjoys a great demand. It is finely combed double plaited yarn intended for manufacture of terry and knitted cloths, garment fabrics. One more perspective direction of the textile industry is sericulture. Development of this branch is attached steadfast attention, measures on rise of volumes of output of cocoons of silkworm, maintenance of profile processing enterprises of the country with valuable raw materials, modernisation silk processing enterprises, release of various kinds of fabrics and products from them can serve a good example for it. In the modern world of textile business raw silk developed from cocoons makes an important article of Turkmen export. Serious offers for export of high-quality silk fibre arrive from foreign partners-manufacturers of small wares production, and also technical textiles used in medicine, aviation and defensive industry, other branches of economy. Today leading silk processing enterprises completely reconstructed and equipped with automatic machine tools, such as Ashgabat silk filature and Turkmenabad industrial silk association, produce silk thread of any size by the order of consumers and its corresponds the highest international standards. Annual capacity of the capital enterprise - over 79 tons of silk threads applied in manufacture of fabrics, and it is far not a limit, considering measures which are undertaken in the country for modernisation and development of the branch. Besides silk-fibre, the factory produces magnificent silk carpets, ketene fabrics and shawls from handmade ketene, which also enjoy a great demand of foreign consumers. Along with manufacture of various kinds of fabrics and garments from natural silk, Turkmenabad association specialises on performance of important orders - manufacturing of national flags from the special fabric “baydak” developed by Turkmen experts. The silk fibre provides trouble-free work of Ruhabat velvet manufacturing factory - beautiful, noble fabric which are enjoying a wide popularity with women all over the world. Here the full production cycle - from primary processing of raw silks to release of first class world standards high end production is accurately adjusted. A considerably increased in the demand for silk yarn and threads of tens various colours and shades is observed at private enterprises of handmade silk carpets, arts and crafts products, as for example, the national embroidery, which has assumed lately a powerful impulse for development. It is necessary to note a special line of activity of enterprises of textile branch – development and sportswear tailoring. An example of successful interaction in this sphere we can refer to the partnership with the State Committee for Sports within the framework of which specialised orders for creation beautiful, with elements of national symbolics and corresponding emblem of clothes for participation of Turkmen sportsmen in large national and international competitions, are carried out. A great laborious work is carried out within the limits of realisation of the grandiose project ""Ashgabad-2017"". For successful conduction of the upcoming 5th AIMAG to be held in September, this year, creations of high image of the country as sports power, enterprises of the branch have prepared complete sets of suits for various sports, clothes and accessories with the emblem and symbolics of the Games on the basis of national brands approved by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov. In the models of a smart uniform developed by domestic designers for solemn ceremonies of opening and closing of the Games, suits for the national team of Turkmenistan, special clothes of volunteers and the personnel a combination of traditional patterns of national ornaments with modern design is highlighted. For strict requirement for manufacture of sportswear application of the highest quality of fabrics, ecologically clean and comfortable material remains a must. These products are made from natural cotton and mixed fabrics. Successes and achievements of the textile industry annually are represented by the International exhibition traditionally dated to Day of workers of this branch. Results of fruitful interaction with foreign partners are business contracts on direct deliveries for domestic textile manufactures of the latest highly technological equipment from world leaders in this sphere - «Trutschler», «Schlafhorst», «Zinser» (Germany), «Marzoli», «Vamatex» (Italy), «Picanol» (Belgium), «Uster», «Sulzer», «Benninger» (Switzerland), «Тsudakoma», «Juki» (Japan), etc. At present, ministries and departments have started development of programs of technological re-equipment of the industry, creation of high technology manufactures on the basis of local natural resources. The created infrastructure of the new industrial enterprises is urged to provide high competitiveness of our production in foreign markets.
