“At – myrat” movie release on the country’s big screens, dedicated to the Akhalteke horses, is timed to the National holiday of spring. These days, it was projected in the capital cinema center “Ashgabat” and the cinema-concert center “Turkmenistan”, in Mary town – at the State Drama Theater named after Kemine. In the current month, the premiere screening took place on national TV broadcast channels. The plot contains a story of twelve-year-old boy Merdan, who thanks to his grandfather Seyis Cherkez aga cognizes the nuts and bolts of horse-breeding, penetrates with love for the “heavenly” horses. In association with the “heavenly” horses, the teen-ager pierces the importance of such values as generosity, selflessness, loyalty, dignity and courage that the generations of skillful Turkmen seyises brought up in the Akhalteke horses. Merdan has a dream to become a famous rider, which explains the title of the film “At – myrat”. Steeping in slumber and the creative imagination into the antecedents’ world, the main character allows the audience to travel back for centuries, into the epoch of Oguzhan, get a sight of the brave riders, and scenes charged with true patriotism and heroism. The stylistics of the film is metaphorical, founded on sub-bottom parallels, emphasizing the spiritual connection of generations. The plot allows the film-makers to carry out a link between the past and the present day of the native Homeland. Currently, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov – the true expert and connoisseur of “heavenly” horses, the devotee of riding, whose skill has been repeatedly assured local and foreign experts, becomes an example for a rookie rider. With a sinking heart, the hero of the film watches over his idol, surviving equestrian contests, as well as his grandson, who famously rushes at the hippodrome on an Akhalteke horse. Merdan also dreams to become the winner of races, show skill and courage, and demonstrate the power, beauty, grace of the Akhalteke horses. This dream comes true, and he becomes a winner of equestrian competitions among young riders. Thanks to the documentary spots, the movie provides guidance on the traditions and customs related to horse-breeding, their revival and extension in modern time. As well they reflect purposeful work on preservation of the breed, herd expansion, measures to bring the Turkmen equestrian sport up to the world level, creation of all conditions for the regular participation of national breeders in international competitions. The film “At – myrat” was created in the Association “Turkmenfilm” named after Oguzhan by creative team, directed by K.Annanov. Along with famous actors, non-professional actors had leading roles of the boy and his grandfather, who however, being relevant to the horse-breeding, that allowed them to perfectly get the main idea of the film across the footlights.
