The capital's cinema and concert hall “Watan” has hosted the closing of the Week of Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran and a joint concert of Turkmen and Iranian artists. Speakers at the ceremony have stressed that the present action is yet another clear sign of friendship and fruitful humanitarian cooperation between the two countries and serves to the mutual enrichment of cultures. The concert, along with Iranian singers and musicians, included performances of the Turkmen Bahshi, popular singers, “Archabil” drummers’ team; the song “Turkmenistan” has been sung. The Week’s program has included creative activities, directed to acquaint the people of Turkmenistan with unique rich culture of the friendly neighbor. The Ministry of Culture has held a meeting with members of the Iranian delegation, where the parties discussed prospects of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. Folk traditions and national musical and singing cultures have been presented by ensembles of the cities of Tabriz and Shiraz, who performed at the Mukams’ Palace of the State Cultural Center and on the stage of “Watan” cinema and concert hall. Young singers, musicians and dancers of the two countries took part in a joint concert at the stage of the Turkmen State Puppet Theater. The exhibition in the Exhibition Hall of the National Academy of Arts presented the works of Iranian artisans of arts and crafts - wood products, glass, stone, inlaid jewelry boxes, carpets, national dresses, mosaic art and miniatures. During the workshops, they shared their experiences in jewelry, calligraphy and engraving with the youth. “Ashgabat” movie theater, within the frames of demonstration of contemporary Iranian films, has been displaying “Iranian woman” and “The Guest” comedies and a movie called “The Bay in Picture”, marked by prizes and honorary awards at prestigious film festivals.
