On February 21, 2025, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Office of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who arrived in the country on a visit.

Having expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and conveyed to the head of state the greetings on behalf of the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Vice President, Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of the UAE, Ruler of the Principality of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the guest emphasized the UAE’s special attention to building up constructive cooperation with brotherly Turkmenistan.

Having warmly welcomed the guest and addressed return greetings and best wishes to the Leadership of the friendly state, the President of Turkmenistan stated the great importance attached by the Turkmen side to the visits of high-level UAE delegations to our country.

As was emphasized, the interstate dialogue, which is friendly and fraternal in nature, is based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutually beneficial partnership. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1995, Turkmenistan and the UAE have consistently increased cooperation in the political and diplomatic, trade and economic, investment, energy, transport and logistics, and cultural and humanitarian fields. Political and diplomatic ties between the countries are strengthened through high-level visits and summit talks.

In the context of bilateral trade and economic partnership, a gradual increase in the volume of mutual trade turnover in various segments over the past years was noted. Active dynamics of cooperation, in particular, is observed in the energy, oil and gas, transport and agricultural sectors. Leading UAE companies are also involved in the implementation of major projects in the oil and gas, energy and construction industries in Turkmenistan.

Speaking about the multilateral dialogue, the interlocutors noted the role of Turkmenistan’s neutrality status and the UAE’s strategic goals in the international arena in strengthening interstate relations.

Stressing that the decision to adopt the UN General Assembly Resolution initiated by Turkmenistan on declaring 2025 the “International Year of Peace and Trust” is consistent with the 30th anniversary of the UN recognition of Turkmenistan’s neutrality status, the head of state presented an invitation to the upcoming international forum in Ashgabat on December 12 this year, expressing confidence that the participation of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan in a major international event will be a great contribution to significantly strengthening bilateral friendly relations.
