On October 10, 2024, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a visit.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to discuss important issues of bilateral cooperation, the Speaker of the Parliament of Türkiye, taking the opportunity, conveyed warm words of greetings from the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed gratitude to the head of the Parliament of Türkiye for participating in the international forum dedicated to the anniversary of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi, and conveyed his best wishes to the head of the fraternal state.

During the meeting, the importance of the work of Turkish scholars and specialists in the field of studying the works of Magtymguly in translating the poems of the great poet into Turkish and their wide popularization was noted.

The interlocutors emphasized the long-term, strategic nature of bilateral relations. As noted, high-level relations are developing between Turkmenistan and Türkiye in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

In Turkmen-Turkish interstate cooperation, an important role is given to interparliamentary relations. In this context, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan confirmed the readiness of the Turkmen side for more active cooperation in the field of parliamentary diplomacy.

Our countries successfully interact both bilaterally and multilaterally, as well as within the framework of authoritative international organizations. A clear confirmation of this is Türkiye’s support for initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan within the framework of international organizations, in particular the United Nations.

During the meeting, a keen exchange of views on other priority areas of bilateral partnership also took place.

In conclusion, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş exchanged wishes for good health and success in their activities, as well as peace and prosperity to the peoples of the two countries.
