Decree of the President of Turkmenistan on holding events to mark 2025 – the «International Year of Peace and Trust»

Guided by the important features of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and 2025 - the «International Year of Peace and Trust», outlined at the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan held in Ashgabat on the 24th of September, 2024, and the tasks defined in this regard, taking into account that Turkmenistan, as a reliable participant in the international political space, implements an open, peaceful, positive foreign policy at the regional and international levels, occupies an important place in the world in developing fruitful cooperation, strengthening peace and security, a great contribution to the development of international relations by peaceful means, ensuring universal security and sustainable development through commitment to its principle of neutrality, the importance of the Declaration and Program of Action on a Culture of Peace of the United Nations, maintains relations with many states, authoritative international organizations based on the principles of friendship, mutual trust and equal cooperation, as well as for the purpose of highly organized celebrations and events planned on the occasion proclaiming 2025 as the «International Year of Peace and Trust» on the basis of the UN General Assembly Resolution initiated by our state, I decree:

1. The Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, ministries and industry departments, political parties and public organizations of Turkmenistan shall ensure that celebrations and events to mark 2025 - the «International Year of Peace and Trust» are held at a high level and in an organized manner.

2. To create an Organizing State Committee for holding celebrations and events to mark 2025 - the «International Year of Peace and Trust» and approve its composition.

3. In order to strengthen the legal foundations of Turkmenistan's foreign policy based on the principles of peace and trust, during 2025 - the «International Year of Peace and Trust» - the Mejlis of Turkmenistan shall consider in the established manner the issues of developing relevant regulatory and legal acts.

4. The Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan shall ensure the preparation, adoption, implementation and control of decisions related to organizational, legal and financial issues for holding high-level celebrations and events on the occasion of 2025 - the «International Year of Peace and Trust».

5. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, closely cooperating with the United Nations and other international organizations on the occasion of the «International Year of Peace and Trust», shall carry out the necessary work to implement a set of international events during 2025.
