Today, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to Astana, met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Having warmly greeted each other, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to exchange views in a personal conversation on topical issues of multifaceted interstate cooperation built on the principles of trust, equality and mutual consideration of national interests.
During the meeting, which was held in a trusting, constructive manner, the progress of the implementation of previously reached agreements was discussed. The interlocutors also exchanged views on key issues of partnership, which is dynamically developing in various formats, including through authoritative international and regional organizations.
As noted, thanks to the joint efforts undertaken in recent years, a high level of development of Turkmen-Kazakh relations has been achieved. Despite the ongoing difficult situation in the world, our countries successfully interact on the basis of equality, respect and mutual support, the parties noted with satisfaction, speaking out in favour of further expanding cooperation in accordance with the demands of the times and in the interests of both fraternal peoples.
Currently, Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation is dynamically strengthening in a wide range of areas. Among the promising vectors were identified trade, oil and gas complex, agriculture, energy and other industries.
