National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli (Parliament) of the Republic of Tajikistan Rustam Emomali during his official visit to Dushanbe.

Before the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan and the head of the Upper Chamber of the Parliament of Tajikistan were photographed against the background of national flags of two friendly countries.

During the meeting, a special emphasis was made that today the interstate dialogue based on principles of trust and mutual understanding, allows our countries to build confidently the Turkmen-Tajik relations for future, to co-ordinate approaches on key issues of international policy, to form long-term plans of partnership in economy, trade, investment activity, cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Throughout the meeting, it was noted that close interaction of legislative bodies of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan is the major part of development of complex cooperation between two states. During the conversation, it was underlined that much work has been carried out in recent years by joint efforts of parliaments of our countries, in particular, the steady inter-parliamentary dialogue has been adjusted, mechanisms of professional interaction have been developed, and a big role is played by the Parliamentary Groups of Friendship created in our countries in it.
