On October 24, the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan continued in the United States. On the morning of the second day of this important event, the Turkmen delegation met with Timothy Keller, Mayor of Albuquerque.
During the meeting, they discussed the further development of friendly relations between Albuquerque and Ashgabat cities, strengthening cooperation established in various spheres, especially in the cultural system.
In the afternoon, an exhibition dedicated to the Turkmen national heritage and art opened in the cozy Kiwa Auditorium. More than 140 exhibits stored in the State Museum of the State Center of Culture of Turkmenistan were shown here. Carpets woven from silk and wool were presented in the carpet art section of the exhibition. Visitors admired the products and exquisite works of our carpet makers.
A special section of the exhibition was dedicated to musical instruments of the Turkmen people. Those who came here watched with great interest musical instruments such as dutar, gijak, gopuz, tuiduk and others. As in all such reviews, a special place was given to national silver jewelry at the Albuquerque exhibition. Those who came here were interested in jewelry, patterns, and the history of their manufacture.
The exhibition also featured photographs of historical sites located on the territory of the country, in particular, the ancient settlements of Margush, Parthia and others. The photos of beautiful Akhalteke horses presented here also left an unforgettable impression on visitors. A special place in the exposition was occupied by values dedicated to the work of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fraghi. The presentation of the videos during the event made this review more interesting.
Those who came to the exhibition dedicated to the Turkmen national heritage and art noted that regular holding of such events would facilitate the further development of cultural ties between the two countries, mutual enrichment of cultures.
Then, in the concert Kiwa Auditoriu for the residents of Albuquerque, a presentation of the smart city of Arkadag was held. As it was noted at the event, the idea and concept of the construction of this city belong to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. As it was announced at the presentation ceremony, the construction of the city began in April 2019. Since then, builders have constructed dozens of houses for 336 apartments here. In order to further develop the city, a number of documents were signed, including the construction of its second stage and the establishment of industrial production in Arkadag. It is planned to place healthcare, pharmaceutical, food and light industry facilities in the industrial and production complex.
In the evening, the final event of the Days of Culture was a concert of artists and masters of Arts of Turkmenistan in the same Kiwa Auditorium. The Dokmaçylar folklore and ethnographic collective, famous folk musicians and singers performed at the concert. The versatility of the concert became a vivid expression of the unifying, creative power of art.
The Days of Culture of Turkmenistan held in Albuquerque have become a bright and significant event in cultural and humanitarian relations between Turkmenistan and the United States.
