Today, the capital’s “Ashgabat” song and music center hosted the final round of the television competition of amateur young performers “Ýaňlan, Diýarym!”.
This popular talent show is traditionally held within the framework of the “Türkmeniň Altyn asyry” competition proclaimed by the President of the country on the eve of the Independence Day of Turkmenistan.
Annually organized by the Ministry of Culture and the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography, a unique project promotes the realization of the creative potential of young people, their familiarization with the priceless spiritual treasury of the nation, the richest musical culture.
In recent years, it has helped many new bright stars shine in the pop sky.
Among the participants of the competition are soloists of various creative collectives, students of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, young servicemen, employees of cultural institutions and other spheres from all corners of the Homeland. The most worthy applicants were identified during the qualifying competitions – etrap, city and velayat rounds of the competition.
Large-scale work on the development of culture and art is being carried out in Turkmenistan today. All conditions have been created for the creative growth of young people, even in remote regions of the country modern cultural centers and concert venues have been erected, where the performances of the participants of the vocal review took place. Many of the finalists received their initial musical education in art schools, in amateur collectives of rural Houses of Culture, where all opportunities are provided for creative work, identification of young talents capable of multiplying the glory of the original national song and music art.
The competitions were held in three stages. For the best performers who have successfully passed all the preliminary stages of the competition from the etrap, velayat to the final metropolitan tour, the nationwide review has become a landmark start on the way to the world of great musical art, and for the audience it is a real song festival that introduced young talents.
Ten young performers received the right to perform in the velayat rounds of the competition. Moreover, in accordance with the regulations, two contenders for the victory from each region and Ashgabat reached the final. As a result, 12 of the best representatives met in the “Ýaňlan, Diýarym!” final gala concert. The participants performed classics, folk songs and author’s works.
The performances of the applicants were evaluated by a highly professional jury according to international standards, according to five criteria. It should be noted that in recent years, the voting and vote counting procedure has been carried out using digital technologies, facilitating even greater objectivity in decision-making. According to the regulations of the competition, the musical compositions of the participants sounded to music and a cappella. At the same time, not only vocal data were taken into account, but also the originality of performance, artistry.
The jury members had a difficult task – to choose the best of the best. The winners of the reviews of the past years were invited to the summing up of the final round and the gala concert, which emphasized the idea of continuity of the traditions of Turkmen culture.
With great attention and enthusiasm, the audience listened to the welcoming Address of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, sent to the participants of the final round of the “Ýaňlan, Diýarym!” television contest.
The head of state proudly noted the talent of the Turkmen youth, who are called upon to reflect in their work the spirit of a new era, the dynamics of large-scale transformations, as well as to make a worthy contribution to the development and enrichment of new works of national art inherited from our glorious ancestors.
As the President of Turkmenistan emphasized, the annual review helps to identify young singers from the people who are passionate about song and music art, and expressed his conviction that the songs performed at the TV contest become a high anthem of the country’s grandiose successes, a happy and prosperous life of our people.
“Since ancient times, the Turkmen people have attached great importance to the traditions of mentoring. The students who passed the perfect school of an experienced mentor found their place in the world of art. At present, it is also important to successfully continue the mentor-student tradition. We firmly believe that our amateur young singers, having deeply studied the creative school of master mentors, will not regret their talent and abilities for further improvement of our national song and music art, creation of songs beloved by the people,” President Serdar Berdimuhamedov notes in his message.
The atmosphere of the creative action was set by the solemn beginning of the concert with the song “Ýaňlan, Diýarym!” – a kind of anthem of the competition, performed by all participants of the final round. The performances of the contestants on the open stage, which was presented in a special way in the colorful palette of the lights of the evening Ashgabat, became a worthy response to the inspired call of the head of state.
The current celebration is a visible confirmation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s great concern for the development of musical culture – the inexhaustible spiritual storehouse of our people, as well as support and stimulation of creativity of young talents.
According to the organizers of the “Ýaňlan, Diýarym!” TV contest, every year the show attracts more and more gifted representatives of the younger generation, whose professionalism is constantly growing. Therefore, there are many popular performers among this year’s contestants, and many of them are familiar to a wide audience with their bright clips.
The repertoire of young performers includes songs, modern vocal works dedicated to the beloved Motherland, the glorious centuries-old history of the Turkmen people and the fateful achievements of a new historical era, the beauty of native nature and love.
Some contestants chose songs created by outstanding Turkmen composers based on the words of classical poets, as well as based on famous destans. It is noteworthy that the premieres of songs that their authors entrusted to young vocalists also took place.
The program of performances also included popular works of the past years, in which modern pop rhythms and ancient folk melodies sounded harmoniously. It is significant that the radical transformations implemented in our country and the work for the continuity of musical and song works enriching the spiritual and cultural treasury of the nation are rightfully reflected in the work of young performers, in their soulful songs and musical compositions.
Along with the finalists of the current competition, the winners of the previous screenings also shone on the stage. For many of them, “Ýaňlan, Diýarym!” became a springboard into a busy creative life, opened the way to the big stage. The theme of continuity of the best traditions of national art was reflected in the festive program.
The contestants treated the performance on the capital’s stage with special responsibility. Each number was distinguished by the original arrangement of song and music compositions, its own style, non-standard performing manner of the artists, appreciated by the audience with friendly applause.
The final chord of the gala concert, performed by soloists and all participants of the creative holiday, was the song “HALYPA-ŞÄGIRTLIK – ARKADAGYŇ AK ÝOLY” – a dedication to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, under whose leadership Turkmenistan confidently follows the path of peace and progress, for the benefit of the people, for the further prosperity of the beloved Homeland, for the glory of national art.
At the end of the song festival, the results of the contest were summed up and the winners were announced – the most exciting part of the creative marathon.
So, to a standing ovation from the audience, the names of six winners who became holders of special diplomas and a gold chain awarded on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan were announced. In addition, memorable gifts were presented to all participants of the final round on behalf of the head of state.
The awardees expressed their deep gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for creating all conditions for full-fledged creative activity, noted that they perceive this award not only as a high honor and responsibility, but also as another evidence of the creative and unifying role of art, which, along with unique national characteristics, has a universal character.
The participants of the “Ýaňlan, Diýarym!” contest accepted a thank-you address to the President of Turkmenistan, assuring the head of state that they will make every effort, talent and inspiration for the flourishing of national art, its wide popularization in the world. With their inspired creative work, they will continue to glorify their beloved Homeland, impressive achievements in all areas of its development.
