Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has held a working meeting via a digital system with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers A. Yazmyradov, who is in charge of the agro-industrial complex, and the khyakims of velayats to consider issues related to development of the country’s regions, as well as the progress of agricultural campaigns.

The floor was first given to Akhal Velayat Khyakim Ya. Gurbanov, who reported on the pace of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region.

As was reported, these days, work is under way to harvest wheat without loss. Timely settlements are made with grain growers for the delivered crop, and measures are taken to transport it to collection points and elevators. Plowing is carried out in the fields vacated from wheat.

Along with this, treatment of cotton sown fields continues in accordance with the agro-technical requirements, in particular, application of mineral fertilizers and irrigation.

Efforts are made to gather potatoes and other crops without loss.

The velayat governor also reported on the construction pace of social and industrial infrastructure facilities as part of the National Rural Program, scheduled for commissioning this year.

Having heard the report, and noting that the farmers now have a very responsible season, the head of state instructed the khyakim to take the necessary measures for high-quality and uninterrupted conduct of this campaign.

Then Balkan Velayat Khyakim T. Atahallyev reported on the state of affairs in the fields of the region.

As was reported, measures were taken to complete the wheat harvest without loss. Settlements with tenant farmers for the delivered crop are made in a timely manner. Harvested grain is transported uninterruptedly to collection points and elevators. At the same time, the plowing of the lands vacated from wheat is underway.

Cotton fields are irrigated and mineral fertilizers are applied to germinating seeds.

At the same time, potatoes and other fruit and vegetable crops are gathered in the velayat. Efforts are made to deliver agricultural products to markets. Proper care is taken for rice crops.

As was reported, the grain harvest campaign is in the final stage, and every effort is made to gather the grown crop without loss. Plowing is carried out in the areas vacated from wheat in order to prepare the lands for the next year’s sowing season. At the same time, the technical facilities are used effectively.

Fertilizing with mineral fertilizers, vegetative irrigation, preventive measures to control agricultural pests and prevent plant diseases continue in the fields sown to cotton.

In addition, potatoes, vegetables, melons and gourds are gathered and delivered to the domestic market.

Application of mineral fertilizers and vegetative irrigation of rice crops are under way in the Dashoguz and Lebap Velayats, and sugar beet planting is carried out in the Mary Velayat. All steps are undertaken according to the established schedule.

Summing up the report and emphasizing the importance of the field campaigns ongoing these days, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave the deputy prime minister relevant instructions.

Further, addressing the working meeting participants, the President of Turkmenistan focused on the activities under way in agriculture, pointing out that some shortcomings were committed in their implementation. Stressing that it was possible to achieve higher indicators provided that the agro-technical requirements were met properly, the head of state strictly demanded that Vice-Premier A. Yazmyradov and the hyakims of velayats ensure timely and high-quality compliance with agro-technical standards.

Concluding the working meeting via a digital system, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished its participants sound health and success in their responsible activities for the prosperity of the sovereign Homeland and the people’s wellbeing.
