On April 2, 2025, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, member of the Council of Ministers Prince Turki Bin Mohammed Al Saud.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to discuss priority areas of mutually beneficial cooperation in a personal conversation, the guest congratulated the head of state and all the Turkmen people on the blessed holiday of Oraza (Eid Al-Fitr), and also conveyed warm greeting and best wishes from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince, Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Thanking for the kind words and wishes, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed his best wishes in return to the King of Saudi Arabia and members of the royal family, expressing confidence that the current visit of Prince Turki Bin Mohammed Al Saud will contribute to the further development and intensification of trade and economic cooperation between two countries.
During the meeting, it was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening traditional friendly and fraternal interstate relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which are distinguished by openness, mutual respect and a high level of trust.
As noted, the countries successfully cooperate not only in a bilateral format, but also within the framework of reputable international organizations, primarily the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
During the exchange of views on the current state and prospective directions for the development of bilateral trade-economic relations, the interlocutors noted with satisfaction the annual growth in mutual trade turnover.
As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized, modernization and diversification of the national economy, active attraction of foreign investments in all its sectors are priority areas of Turkmenistan’s economic strategy.
As is known, Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia are countries with huge reserves of natural resources, which serves as a basis for the development of mutually beneficial partnership in the fuel and energy sector. In this regard, the interlocutors noted the presence of great potential and prospects for increasing cooperation in the field of production, processing and supply of oil and gas to world markets, confirming the mutual readiness of the parties to further deepen the established effective cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Minister of State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, member of the Council of Ministers Prince Turki Bin Mohammed Al Saud wished each other good health and well-being, and the fraternal peoples of the two countries – peace and further prosperity.
