Armenia hosted the opening of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan. Ancient Yerevan hospitably met the representatives of a friendly country. The grand opening of the event took place in the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall.
The opening ceremony was attended by cultural and art figures, historians, art critics and media workers of both republics. The speakers noted the particular importance of such meetings in terms of rapprochement between the peoples of the two countries, intensification of relations in the cultural and humanitarian direction. It also became clear evidence of the effectiveness of the efforts of the two countries, including their leaders, to strengthen friendship and active cooperation between peoples, since ancient times connected by spiritual and cultural values.
And before that, a meeting of the ministers of culture of Turkmenistan and Armenia took place, during which the state of cultural and humanitarian relations between the countries and promising directions for their development were discussed. The parties came to an Agreement on the development of cooperation between the Governments of the two countries in the field of culture for 2023-2025.
On the very first day, as part of the planned events, the staff of the Institute of Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of the country visited one of the largest museums in the world - the Mesrop Mashtots Ancient Manuscripts Center in Yerevan. The museum is repository for more than 17 thousand manuscripts and more than 100 thousand ancient documents. The Ancient Manuscripts Institute-Museum is one of the largest research institutes in Armenia.
In addition, on the first day of the stay in Yerevan, the Turkmen musicians performmed in the «Good Morning, Armenia» TV show. Then a concert of masters of arts of Turkmenistan took place. The Turkmen artists were very welcomed with thunderous applause by grateful spectators in Armenia.
One of the goals of the creative action in Yerevan is the wide promotion of the literary heritage of the Turkmen poet-philosopher Makhtumkuli Fragi, for whose 300th anniversary Turkmenistan is actively preparing today. The combination of large-scale cultural events associated with the anniversary of the great Turkmen poet gives the forum in Yerevan a special meaning and content.
The expansion of humanitarian and cultural relations is an important aspect in the relations between the two countries, and the direct implementation of joint projects in the humanitarian sphere helps to strengthen mutual understanding and trust between peoples.
