Today, on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Chairwoman of the Mejlis G.Mammedova received credentials from the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors of a number of states: the Kingdom of Sweden – Thomas Danestad, the Kingdom of the Netherlands – Andre Carstens, and Mongolia – Dorzhiin Bayarkhuu.
On behalf of the head of Turkmenistan, the head of the National Parliament congratulated each of the foreign diplomats on their appointment to a responsible position, wishing success in strengthening the bonds of friendship and interstate dialogue, successfully developed both on a bilateral and multilateral basis, including on the platform of major international organizations and structures.
The plenipotentiary representatives of the friendly countries, in their turn, conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the leadership of their states to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the entire Turkmen people, confidently following the chosen path of grandiose transformations in the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state.
During the meetings, an exchange of views took place on the issues of productive cooperation, built from the standpoint of equality and mutual benefit.
The ambassadors were informed about the main directions and priorities of the domestic and foreign policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan, the most important vector of which is the establishment of broad international cooperation in the interests of universal peace, security and sustainable development. Special emphasis is placed on large-scale socio-economic transformations being implemented in our country on the initiative and under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The diplomats were also familiarized with the structure and activities of the Turkmen Parliament, its work on legislative support for reforms in various fields, and the exchange of lawmaking experience. In this regard, the possibilities of expanding the inter-parliamentary dialogue, particularly on the platform of international parliamentary structures, were discussed.
Noting the interest of their countries in intensifying cooperation with independent neutral Turkmenistan in a wide range of areas, the diplomats assured of their readiness to promote the full deepening of traditionally friendly bilateral relations and the diversification of multifaceted productive cooperation.
