On November 17, in the “Oguzkhan” Palace Complex, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov decorated the People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Fahriya Alieva with a high state award – “Garaşsyz Türkmenistana bolan beýik söygüsi üçin” order. The solemn ceremony was attended by Mejlis Chairperson, some of the Cabinet Deputies Chairman, the Minister of Culture, heads of the National Parliament’s Committees, and the Democratic Party, the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Agrarian Party. Warmly welcoming the mentor and spiritual leader of many generations of theatre artists, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has emphasized that the People’s Artist of Turkmenistan, scene coryphaeus - Fahriya Alieva, who devoted all her creative life to the art, is a country-known celebrity. She worked selflessly in the Turkmen State Mollanepes Academic Drama Theatre during 65 years, faithfully serving to our people, the nation’s leader said. Fahriya Alieva, an ethnic Uzbek, was born on July 1, 1922 in the large family in Kaahka etrap. She graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Theatrical Arts named after Lunacharsky in 1941(the “drama and film actor” field) and worked at the country’s leading theatre throughout 1941-2006. The head of state noted the invaluable contribution of the talented stage master to establishing and perfecting the domestic theatre and cinema arts. Great are the Fahriya Alieva’s merits in the culture development and young talents’ and stage masters’ education, the leader of nation continued. Then, the nation’s leader announced the ceremony attendees about decorating Fahriya Alieva with “Garaşsyz Türkmenistana bolan beýik söýgüsi üçin” order. The reason for this award was her long-term conscientious, self-sacrificing work and especially outstanding merits for our sovereign state and nation exhibited in her personal contribution to strengthening the independence and sovereignty of Turkmenistan, for encouraging advancement of the national culture and art, cultural ties between Turkmenistan and other countries, worthy upbringing of the young generation. Expressing gratitude for the invaluable contribution to the national art, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov presented the high state award to the prominent stage master and wished her good health, longevity and happiness. The People’s Artist of Turkmenistan expressed the sincerest gratitude to the head of state for high appreciation of her long-term service, care and attention, for the vigorous activity aimed at broad popularization of the Turkmen culture and national art throughout the world. “I regard, this award, Fahriya Alieva said, as recognition of the work of all the pioneers and founders of the modern Turkmen art”. Having thanked Fahriya Alieva for her warm words, the head of state made an address to the audience. As the nation’s leader emphasized, state policy is based on three principles – education, health of nature and culture, and we attach equally high priority to further development of each of these areas. In this regard the President of Turkmenistan has mentioned that in our state and society, great attention is paid to the culture and art development, the national heritage revival, its preservation and bequeathal to future generations. For the culture is the soul of the people. In conclusion, the leader of nation congratulated the People’s Artist Fahriya Alieva onthea high state award and wished the ceremony participants good health, prosperity, further success in work. *** That same day, in the Main Drama Theatre, the ceremony of honoring the People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Fahriya Alieva was held. The ceremony was participated by the head of the National Parliament, Cabinet Deputy Chairman supervising culture, representatives of Culture Ministry, political parties, public associations, groups of the country’s leading theaters, workers of culture and masters of art, mass media, teaching staff and students of specialized educational institutions. During the ceremony, a video was demonstrated about the long-term working career of the outstanding actress who created a gallery of wonderful images on the stage and in films, having won the people’s sincere affection over 65 years of her work.
