Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Turkmenistan Ion Naval.
Having handed his credentials, the diplomat conveyed to the head of the state warm words of greeting from President of Romania Werner Iohannis, who underlined a special significance attached to the strengthening of ties of friendship and constructive cooperation with Turkmenistan, which goes ahead confidently on the path of sovereign development.
Having congratulated the plenipotentiary representative of the friendly country with his appointment to the high diplomatic post, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also conveyed his best wishes reciprocally to the leadership of Romania, noting that from its side, Turkmenistan also attaches great attention to the all-round strengthening of the interstate dialogue, which is successfully developed both at the bilateral and multilateral levels, including on the platform of largest international organizations and important regional institutions.
Having thanked for kind words and warm welcome in the hospitable Turkmen land, the Romanian diplomat ensured that he would make all-out efforts to strengthen the established good relations meeting the interests of both states and their peoples.
In the course of an interested exchange of opinions of the present state and future of development of Turkmen-Romanian relations, the interlocutors marked with satisfaction wide opportunities for further development of cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian fields.
In view of bilateral cooperation, the head of the state and ambassador gave special attention to the issues of further intensification of mutually beneficial trade and economic partnership in a wide range of areas, including strategic spheres like energy, trade, agriculture, transport and communications, chemical and light industries.
In it, an important role is attached to the Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen–Romanian Economic, Scientific and Technical Commission, the work of which is called to facilitate the strengthening of trade relations and exploration of new forms and ways of interaction.
The all-round deepening of interstate relations in the humanitarian sphere, in particular, in science, culture and education, were also mentioned among priority goals.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov once again congratulated Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Turkmenistan Ion Naval with the start of his work in Turkmenistan and wished him successes in fulfilment of his mission to strengthen the interstate dialogue.
