Today, a telephone conversation took place between the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Shentop, during which aspects of expanding the inter-parliamentary dialogue were discussed.

Warmly greeting each other, the interlocutors exchanged warm congratulations to the peoples of Turkmenistan and Turkey on the occasion of Gurban Bayram (Eid al-Adha), sacred for all Muslims, expressing confidence that this bright holiday will contribute to the development of relations between the two fraternal states, as well as the progressive strengthening of mutual understanding and trust in the entire Muslim ummah(community).

The presence of great potential for further expansion and strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties, intensification of interaction between the legislative bodies of both countries was especially noted.

The parties stated the relevance of consistently building up partnership between law-making bodies, organizing meetings of deputies and exchanging experience through mutual consultations, and also expressed their conviction that inter-parliamentary partnership will contribute to the consistent development and deepening of relations between the two fraternal countries.

At the end of the telephone conversation, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Shentop wished each other good health and great success in responsible state activities, and to the fraternal peoples of the two countries peace, well-being and prosperity.
