Today, Turkmenistan is widely celebrating the Day of Workers of Culture and Art, as well as Magtymguly Pyragy’s Poetry.
The celebrations of the festive day began in the square near the monument to Magtymguly, which is located in the historical center of Ashgabat, on one of the main thoroughfares of the capital - the avenue named after the great classic. A ceremony of laying flowers at the monument of the brilliant philosopher and sage of the East took place here - in recognition and admiration for his poetic genius.
The monument to Magtymguly, where a sculpture of the great Pyragy carved from granite rises above the water surface of the fountain, has long been one of the most beloved and visited memorable places in Ashgabat, as well as a traditional meeting place for cultural and art figures.
In recognition and veneration of the artistic talent and literary heritage of Pyragy, which is the property of the nation, representatives of ministries and departments, public organizations, political parties, the media, scientists and cultural figures, honorary elders and student youth, etc, laid bouquets of flowers.
A bright flower carpet at the foot of the Magtymguly monument is an expression of people's love and immense reverence for the great son of the nation, as well as appreciation and admiration for his talent.
The participants and guests of the event are presented with a colorful exhibition of works of art - paintings, photographs, as well as publishing products, which unfolded on the square in front of the Pyragy monument.
The book exhibition demonstrates new editions of classical national literature, books on history and art, poetry collections, etc. A place of honor is occupied by the works of the Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, dedicated to Turkmen culture and art, and works of art.
It is noteworthy that in these days of culture, the National Music and Drama Theater named after Magtymguly hosted the premiere of a new production of the opera Magtymguly, a hymn to the patriotism of the native people, their desire for freedom, independence and prosperity of the Fatherland.
Flower-laying ceremonies at the monuments of Magtymguly, revealing the inseparable unity of the glorious history and rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, were also held today in all corners of our country.
